Froomelander: TdF champ does blue steel for magazine cover

Is he on a trampoline? Chris Froome pictured mid-air with Pinarello Dogma on the cover of Issue 1 of sports magazine UNLTD

Chris Froome, perhaps better known for his steely determination on the bike, has been snapped doing his own version of 'blue steel' for a magazine shoot.

As if on a trampoline, Froome appears on the cover of French football magazine Surface’s new title, UNLTD, suspended in mid-air gripping a Pinarello Dogma and wearing some sort of fashion blanket-cape-hoodie. We think it rather suits him.

Chris Froome reveals Rapha's 2016 Team Sky kit

The Froome cover is one of three images for UNLTD’s first edition featuring pro athletes - all of them seemingly on the UNLTD trampoline - the other two being basketballer Kevin Durant, and French Pole Vaulter, Renaud Lavillenie.

Who said cyclists can't be fashionable?

I'd guess he's on wires. Not many marginal gains to be made from jumping around on a trampoline with a bike...

Really interested in what the actual article is about, and what the hell are those trousers...

Not enough pout for Blue Steel, perhaps it is Tigra.

Considering the ease with which I manage to whack a pedal against my shins just getting a bike out of my front door, there's no way I'd ever take one on a trampoline.
