The fastest fast food? Deliveroo rider in full Team Sky kit on a Pinarello

We’re wondering if it’s one of the Team Sky boys who didn’t get the Tour de France gig

Deliveroo delivery riders are now a common sight in Britain’s cities, zooming around with those big boxes on their back to get that meal from A (the restaurant) to B (your sofa).

And if those corporate black and sky blue corporate colours seem a bit familiar, it could be because they are shared with a certain UCI WorldTour team.

Props, then, to the Deliveroo rider snapped in Reading by road.cc reader Gila Joffe Overton who is not just dressed in full Team Sky kit, but is also riding a Pinarello Dogma, from the Italian firm that just renewed their deal as bike sponsor to the British outfit.

Talk about putting the ‘fast’ into fast food.

I wonder if (like me) he also works in a bike shop part - time, in order to be able to buy the nice bike and kit at trade prices, as a perk? I have do the same thing

Going by the bike and kit I'm guessing he's delivering Chinese food.

My youngest son is a deliveroo-er. He loves it; pretty good money for a 17 year old and he gets to ride his bike to earn it. I don't know if he will be so keen in winter though...

There's always several Deliveroo riders hanging around in the Oracle.

Funniest one is the chap on the neon pink Planet X bike with carbon mag wheels.

Given Deliveroo's corporate colours, they should all be riding Bianchi 1

Have to admit, if I was able to retire young somehow, maybe win the lottery -  I'd get a 'job' as a bike courier in some big city, New York or somewhere. Always dreamed of that. Such a buzz.

If you're an aspiring pro, it's not actually a bad gig - at least someone is paying you to train! They're all self employed, so the more they deliver, the more they earn...

If he's happy then who cares?

No-one would say anything if he was wearing a Man Utd shirt with 'Rooney' or whatever on the back.

Is that a company vehicle? Perhaps these delivery jobs are better paid than I thought...

I saw this bloke the other day whilst we were going through reading. It confused the hell out of me. He really looked the part.

Now Froomey's top tube position makes sense or where else would he rest the box?

... And Sky ride Shimano wheels. Maybe he's just on a training ride

But why is he wearing trainers? And what's with that lever position?
