Police in Exeter are still looking for a naked cyclist who rides through the city’s streets at night.
In April, we reported how Devon & Cornwall Police had issued an appeal after two sightings of the mystery rider, wearing a black hoodie but lacking trousers or underwear.
He was spotted again this weekend, with officers from an armed response vehicle who also carry out general policing duties despatched after the rider was spotted again on Saturday evening.
According to posts by Sergeant Harry Tangye on Twitter, officers tried to find the man on foot but were unable to do so, and he appealed to the cyclist to get in touch.
Exeter Response have been in pursuit of a naked cyclist who appears regularly at night. Are you Naked Cycle man?! Do you know who he is?!

Needless to say, the tweet prompted some jokes on Twitter.

In their appeal in April, police said that the man was "described as a white male, aged twenties to early thirties, with collar-length scruffy hair and riding a dark coloured bicycle.”
Curiously, they didn’t highlight the naked-from-the-waist-down aspect.

I've heard that it wasn't even his own bike, he'd merely left a deposit on it.

Is there a law against riding a bike starkers? I have heard of naked bike events to raise money for charity. I hope he has a wide seat, cos he wouldn't want a racing saddle up his ass. The cops need to focus on real crime

As 'even' being naked in public isn't against the law, why are the police seemingly spending so much effort on this?
I didn't know there was a special police unit for dealing with nudie-rudies:

Armed response seems extreme as being naked is not of itself an offence.
