Team Sky’s Owain Doull says it is ‘outrageous’ that accusations are thrown at current riders as a result of ongoing controversies surrounding Sir Bradley Wiggins’ use of TUEs and the mystery package delivered to the 2011 Critérium du Dauphiné.
Speaking to the BBC, Doull said: "I haven't been racing that much. Especially compared to some of the others. I'm not really in the limelight so I don't see too much of it, but for these accusations to be thrown at them is outrageous.
"It doesn't really affect us at all, especially me, as someone's only joined the team this year. It's stuff that happened five years ago.”
Team Wiggins boss Simon Cope – at centre of Jiffy Bag controversy – says Tour de Yorkshire exclusion “disappointing”
Doull’s team-mate Geraint Thomas has previously expressed similar frustrations, saying that Wiggins and others who were directly involved in the events being investigated can, “swan around getting on with their lives while we have to answer questions we've got nothing to do with.”
Doull also said he was surprised by the reaction to his comments about disc brakes earlier in the year.
In February, the Welshman claimed that a disc brake rotor on Marcel Kittel’s bike had cut through his shoe "like a knife" following a crash in the Abu Dhabi Tour.
Kittel subsequently switched bikes “out of respect for colleagues” but a number of other riders took the opportunity to have their say on whether or not disc brakes should be permitted in the peloton.
“It attracted a lot of attention, but I guess that's a good thing,” said Doull. “It shows it was a big thing that people take seriously."

Internet trolls are amusing, because your faux superiority at something he says (in passing as part of an interview) has zero impact. The only thing that happens is you getting triggered.
yeah ... but the 2016/2017 Sky train are every bit as strong as the previous years when it's emerged they operated in a pretty dark grey area.
They could be strong because, err, they have a lot of strong riders. Nearly every one of the train has a decent palmares. I'm sure I read somewhere that the wage bill of Sky is twice (?) that of the other teams. Like in football or rugby, you pay more for your players, you expect better results. If anything, they've underachieved at many races.
I remember at the Tour of Britain a couple of years ago, he was in the Wiggins team and was signing his autograph in the special box in the programme "reserved" for Sir B's signature (the rest of the team had a less salubrious bit of the page). I remember thinking "he'll go far, that one ..."
He's a good rider though, he'll either get the hang of the talking to the press or just learn not to say anything
a yap
Wiggins used to flip his lid at getting asked about Lance all the time. As did Lance when he used to get asked about the Festina guys. Team Sky have brought this current circus on themselves.
Doull? Dull, more like.
Total diskhead
Given it's a Team Sky/British Cycling mess, it actually could be related to a number of them... Dibben, Doull himself, Froome, Kennaugh, Knees, Rowe, Stannard and Thomas. He really doesn't come across as the sharpest tool in the box... unlike disc brake rotors which are clearly VERY VERY VERY sharp and are LITERALLY lethal
I do feel some sympathy regarding the allegations and the attention being focussed on team riders who had nothing to do with the "mystery package". Especially if they were not in theteam at the time.
But seriously on the disc brake thing - Confusious say "man who finds himself in hole should stop digging."
But, it was, it seems, untrue. So, what are we taking seriously, fake news?
