Daryl Impey wins Tour Down Under, final stage to Andre Greipel

Season-opener finishes with circuit race ion streets of Adelaide

Mitchelton-Scott rider Daryl Impey has won the Tour Down Under to take the biggest victory of his career. The final stage, a 90 kilometre circuit race in Adelaide, was won by Lottoi-Soudal's Andre é Greipel.

Impey finished the race on the same time as defending champion Richie Porte of BMC Racing, winner of Saturday's queen stage to Willunga Hill.

Impey, aged 33, was in the leaser's ochre jersey overnight due to having lower aggregate stage placings during the race, and the nature of today['s stage meant that his victory was more or less assured barring a crash or illness.

His team missed out on a double celebration, however, as Greipel beat Mitchelton-Scott's Caleb Ewan to the line.
