Head to the Cycle Show at Earl’s Court next month and you’ll get the chance to check out the brand spanking new Colnago C59 Italia road bike and Vision’s new Metron road groupset, both shown for the first time in the UK on stand D19.
We reported on the C59 from Eurobike last month. A Limited Edition version of just 59 (see, it all ties in) will be supplied with Shimano’s Di2 electronic groupset where both the cables and the battery are hidden away inside the frame. You’ll also be able to see Colnago’s new M10 that comes with a (claimed) 850g carbon monocoque frame – lighter and stiffer than the existing CX-1.

You can have a go on Vision’s Metron groupset at the Cycle Show too – which, again, we saw for the first time at Eurobike. The Metron group is designed for time trials and triathlon and features a distinctive new bar end shifter that looks a lot like a brake lever. You shift up by clicking the blade and shift down by pushing the end of the assembly.

The Metron rear mech is 100% carbon and is set to be the lightest on the market according to Vision, and the front mech is a new design with a CNC cage. It’ll all be built onto a Colnago Flight that’ll be sitting on a turbo trainer at the Cycle Show so you’ll be able to test the shifting for yourself.

FSA’s new two-speed Metropolis PT chainset will be on display too. Designed for commuters and urban riders, it’s a planetary gear system that, the manufacturer claims, allows instant, seamless shifting under any load, with less stress on the gear mechanism than other systems to ensure a long service life. Effectively, it gives you a 28/45t gear range, it’s compatible with most conventional frames and can be operated by any standard shifter.
To book go to www.cycleshow.co.uk/rcc or call 0844 848 0132 and tell them road.cc sent you giving the discount code: RCC. That will get you in for £10.50 instead of £15 – all bookings are subject to a one-off £1 booking charge, but you can spread the pain by buying more than one ticket per booking.
