"This is a local path. For local people. There's nothing for you here!"
Any gallows in Newcastle anymore?
Not in the town centre, but we do on the outskirts... A very popular route for cyclists too.

Presumably that pic is either from the cyclist or a good samaritan pedestrian passing by ?
You can taste the bile can't you. Such a big brave man to knock a woman into a road.

"Now officers are in a position to release an image of a man who may be able to assist with their investigation as he was in the area at the time."
I'm not sure we can assume the guy in the picture is necessarily the culprit. I would like to see this all over the national news outlets though, as it sounds no different to the jogger who pushed the woman into a bus lane on a London bridge.
#CyclistsLivesMatter
So Alliston tried to avoid the pedestrian who stepped out in front of him and was tarred and feathered. This guy deliberately assaults a cyclist and the msm immediately start ignoring it.
I'm so glad the media in this country isn't biased*.
*may contain traces of irony.
More gammon there than a butcher's window at Christmas
Cycling prevents Gammonization.
I'm sure I've seen this chap before

I'd certainly agree that Chris Grayling seems to have let himself go a bit, but that's being in Govt for you...
Chris Grayling 'in government'. I see what you did there.
Absolutely - before he went into politics, he looked like this :

Only part of this road has a shared path (over the bridge), for the rest of it cyclists are to ride in the very busy bus lanes. Of course as with many of these schemes there is no signage to tell you what is/isnt shared space or how/when to cross between the road and path. Its the main route into Newcastle from that direction so is very busy, lots of cyclists use the (generally) wide pavements for the entire length. At Junctions the bus lanes end early to allow cars to use the lane to turn left, and at the newcastle end has the bus lane stops and leaves cyclists fighting cars trying to get into the left lane to join the motorway.
Ive ridden this road a lot but took the bus along it yesterday and it hit me how truly aweful it is for cycling , especially given its got a massive amount of students along it and it has such opportunity to have a massive amount of cycle traffic from Byker and beyond.
Jogger knocks pedestrian into carriageway - media goes into meltdown.
Pedestrian knocks cyclist into carriageway - look, over there - Cheryl's back!
If the police would like to spend sometime in any of the local Facebook pages, they will probably find him boasting of it.

You'll probably find him in the audience of the next Question Time.
*applause*
Was this the usual thing where she was cycling on shared use that he thought was pedestrians only?
I'm glad the police are treating it as assault, though I do wonder what else they'd think it would be...?
