Coleshill Road, Ansley Common (via Google Street View).PNGArrest made after boy, 11, killed while cycling in Nuneaton
A man has been arrested and released pending investigation after an 11-year-old boy was killed whole riding his bike near Nuneaton, Warwickshire, on Saturday afternoon.
Warwickshire Police say that the fatal crash happened at around 2.40pm in Coleshill Road, Ansley Common.
Emergency services attended the scene, and a passing doctor also gave assistance to the victim, who was taken by ambulance to University Hospital Coventry but died of his injuries.
Police say that his family has been informed and are receiving assistance from a Family Liaison Officer.
A spokesperson for the Warwickshire Police Serious Collision Investigation Team said: “This is a tragic incident and we’re appealing to anyone who may have witnessed what happened or was passing with dash cameras in this location to please contact us.
“Our thoughts are with the boy’s family at this time.”
Anyone who has information is requested to call Warwickshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 215 of 2 November 2019 or the charity, Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
