Canyon look for Young Heroes

Talented juniors invited to apply for mentoring project

Canyon Bicycles, who provide the bikes for the top level Omega Pharma-Lotto ProTour team, are looking for juniors aged 15-16 years old to join their 2011 Young Heroes programme.

Run by six-time Tour de France green jersey winner Erik Zabel, the Canyon Young Heroes team is an informal mentoring project providing support for young riders across Europe. Each team member receives a carbon Canyon pro bike equipped with Campagnolo Record components and full team kit which will be theirs to compete with for one year. Team members will also be invited to attend European mentoring and training events throughout the year.

Each entry will be reviewed by a panel of expert including Erik Zabel, and it costs nothing to apply. A shortlist of talented hopefuls will then be invited to a ‘get to know each other’ event where they can meet the Canyon team and show off their riding talent before the final team selection is made.

This is a really great program. And there's still a week to go for applications.

We'd really love to see a rider from the UK benefit from the equipment, the mentoring and the contacts. So if you know any riders who qualify please send them a link to this article.

Thanks
