Video - Core BiKe faves: Starring Colnago, Traitor, Kinesis, Surly, Civia, Easton & more

Standout bikes and kit from the Core Bike show in full Core-o-Vision!

Sadly the Core Bike Show is a trade only event so here's a video taster starring fancy bikes and kit from the likes of Dedacciai, Colnago, Civia, Easton and lots more and with cameo guest appearances by the Green Oil man and Doddy from MBUK – yes the stars come out for Core. Bang your head on the desk before pressing 'Play' for full the full Core-o-Vision effect (slight hangover – there's a social side to Core – coupled with eye strain brought on by so much shiny stuff in one place).

Basically it's our favourite bits from the show – some of which are already winging their way in to road.cc for test. Stand out items for me included the Traitor Luggernaut 3-spd, (and indeed all of the Traitor range of urban machines),  Dedacciai's Super Scuro, the Kinesis Ti Gran Fondo and De Marchi's Classic Wool tops (think that made the final cut if not we'll be posting some pics soon (my video arm went a bit shaky at that point). Dave was particularly enthused by the Civias so much so that he forget to point that camera at 'em while waxing lyrical - don't worry we got some footage.

Core is a small(ish) but perfectly formed slice of high end cycling brands featuring bikes, wheels, components, clothing, accessories… the lot really, it covers all cycling genres too road cycling in all its many forms is particularly well represented with race, commuting and urban riding all getting a good look in - this year there were noticeably more high end urban, utility and general high end machines. There were also a lot of interesting high end wheels, deep section carbon clinchers are so in… we've got a wheels round up on it's way.

Tony's journey in cycling media started in 1997 as production editor and then deputy editor of Total Bike, acting editor of Total Mountain Bike and then seven years as editor of Cycling Plus. He launched his first cycling website - the Cycling Plus Forum at the turn of the century. In 2006 he left C+ to head up the launch team for Bike Radar which he edited until 2008, when he co-launched the multi-award winning road.cc - finally handing on the reins in 2021 to Jack Sexty. His favourite ride is his ‘commute’ - which he does most days inc weekends and he’s been cycle-commuting since 1994. His favourite bikes are titanium and have disc brakes, though he'd like to own a carbon bike one day.

I think the carpet at this venue does a really good job of setting off some of these immaculate paintjobs against a complimentary backdrop...
im sure those that invested in the show were impressed!

Hmmm - just looked up the Traitor cycles site - lovely bikes - but don't think they've planned for much in the way of toe clearances on those bikes.

they're from the same camp as Salsa, Surly and All City so you can expect the people who stock those brands to be getting some Civias too. Bikes are due March time, we were reliably informed, so they should be in the shops April to May...

Good to see Civia coming to the UK, anyone know where and when they'll start to sell?
