I have to agree with the cheese grater feel to the bridge, feared what it'd do to my tyres!
Not noticed it's slippery side and I've been over it plenty of times on 23mm slicks in all weathers. Noisy though. Bump Dududududududududud bump! You get the idea
Cool bridge maybe but it's still slippy in the wet!
Really? Funny, cos the day it opened I thought that might be the case and made quite a few test runs to try and induce something disconcerting (yes, it was raining) and it seemed OK. I must admit I wasn't trying too hard as I feared what falling off on that 'cheese grater' surface would be like. I've only crossed it two or three times subsequently and I don't think it's rained again...
Well, you won't have to walk from the train this year, sk8ir. Brunel's Old Station as you probably realise is quite literally next to his new station and I think I'm right in saying there's twice as much space as before. And it's right on the National Cycle Route/Railway Path giving the opportunity to cross the river Avon at Bristol's claim for the official 'Coolest Cyclists' Bridge Award.'

Sounds promising, nice venue Last year's was pretty good, but could've done with a bit more space. I went on the last day and all the stands I spoke to seemed to think it had gone well and was worth repeating.
Albeit spoiled a bit for me by getting absolutely drenched walking from the station (oh, and being made redundant a couple of days beforehand - so after 3 years of saving for a custom frame I ended up just 'window shopping', sigh).
