Germany’s Storck Bicycle brand is moving into the cycle clothing market with a technical range that’s aimed largely at sportive riders.
Storck have been producing premium bikes since the mid-1990s – very light, mega stiff, not cheap. The brand is based on solid engineering so it might be seen as a little surprising that they’ve moved into clothing rather than, for example, expanding their component line-up.
Company founder Markus Storck explains it like this: "We wanted to combine the latest seamless textile technology with luxury functional fabrics from leading European experts, to produce the finest cycling apparel on an unrivalled level of performance and comfort.”
Storck got Italian designer Alberto Celante in to put the range together, with help from the Storck team of pro riders.
“How many cycling gear manufactures offer different thickness short padding for different weight riders? We do," says Markus.
We had a peek at the clothing at Eurobike and it certainly looks cool. It’s understated, you might even say subdued, with discreet logos. We brought a couple of items home with us too so watch this space for reviews. We have shorts and a short sleeve jersey so we’d better get a move on or it’ll be too late in the year for it.
We also did some video with Markus – covering the bike range as well as the clothing – so we’ll get that online shortly too.
“The clothing will be available in the UK through Storck Raddar UK. The new website is due to go live in early October, but you can get the new catalogue here www.storckcyclinggear.com . You’ll be able to buy the clothing either through dealers or direct from the site.”

The Fr Russell Rd one looks horribly narrow, with a pedal-strike kerb against the cycle track on one side.
