Vulpine expand clothing range

...and there's a fete in London on the way

Vulpine are just about to expand their bike clothing range up to 16 different garments with long sleeved merino T-shirts polos due in the next week and Harrington jackets, shorts, trousers and winter caps following shortly.

They’re not showing us much at the moment – just odd glimpses that are really no good to man nor beast. This (below), for example, is the new Harrington jacket. Apparently. We tried to get shots of the full garments out of Vulpine but they weren't having any of it. The only pics they have are of samples and R&D stuff so they're not quite right. We'll show you the finished garments as soon as they arrive in the country.

The brand is currently gearing up for the Vulpine Cycling Fete that’s set for 1 December in London.

According to Vulpine, “The concept will always be the same – it’s a fun, dynamic, inclusive way to enjoy all aspects of cycling and keep non-cyclists entertained too. There's no snobbery, just great creativity, atmosphere, booze and British entrepreneurial cycling companies that do what they do to a very high standard indeed.”

Look Mum No Hands! will be there, for example, and there will be roller racing courtesy of Rollapaluza.

Vulpine will be hitting the road in the new year and holding a Manchester Vulpine Cycling Fete within the Bike & Triathlon Show on 16-17 February.

Believe it or not, Vulpine have only been in existence since March of this year but they’ve already had several positive reviews here on Road.cc. Check out VecchioJo’s recent write-up of Vulpine’s Cotton Rain Jacket, for instance.

The early success is generating an expansion of the range from five garments at launch to 16 garments within the next few weeks, including trousers, shorts, long sleeved merino tops and more jackets.

The expansion is also resulting in Vulpine moving to London offices from their warehouse near Box Hill in Surrey. Vulpine is taking on other staff in key areas at the beginning of the year.

Vulpine is essentially an online brand (available via UK online retailers Always RidingStolen Goat and VeloVixen as well as from the brand’s own website) although the clothing is stocked in Tokyo Fixed, Soho, and it’ll soon be stocked in three more outlets: Bike Boutique in North London, BikeShak in Altrincham near Manchester, and Siempre Cafe Bar in Glasgow. Vulpine is now stocked in Spain, Singapore, and the USA too, and Australia will soon be added to the list.

Vulpine are currently getting involved in women's racing and will be expanding their women's range considerably in 2013. More fetes and events to be announced shortly.

Founder Nick Hussey said, “After all the research and scrabbling about to even get Vulpine off the ground, and how hard it was to find people who actually had faith that there was a market for performance casual cycling clothing, to have got where we have in the time blows me away."

Vulpine have also just recruited East London cycling style starlet Jools Walker as Sales and Marketing Manager. Jools receives a great deal of attention in the style press for her Velo City Girl blog, and she was a co-presenter on ITV4’s The Cycle Show.

You can check out Vulpine at this weekend's Knog Muddy Hell cyclo-ross racing at Herne Hill Velodrome, London, where they are co-sponsors.

They are currently holding a Clydesdale sale of XL and XXL clothing.

If the new stuff is as good as the Schwag Tee, Jersey and jacket I won then it will be top class, I've never had the merino tee off my back.
