Video: The man from Birzman shows us his fancy pumps

Check out Birzman's key 2014 products, including (yes, you guessed it) lots of stylish pumps

While we were out at Eurobike last month we visited Birzman and spoke to brand manager Nico Ferreira about a few of their standout products…

Birzman do a wide range of pumps, including the Zacoo Maha floor pump lineup. The Zacoo Maha has been recognized with an iF product design award.

We reviewed the Zacoo Maha III (£49.99) on road.cc earlier in the year and Jez gave it 4.5 stars (out of a possible five). He described the Snap It head, for use with Presta valves, as a ‘killer feature’, and here Nico shows us how it works.

Okay, you might not get overly excited about a valve connector – and that’s fair enough – but this really is clever. You just pull back the collar, push it onto the valve, give it a twist and it’s ultra-secure, even at very high pressures.

The Snap It design fastens as tightly as a screw-on valve connector, and it has the advantage of a little air release button that allows you to get the pressure exactly right. Releasing a little air also avoids accidentally unscrewing Presta valve cores.

The Zacoo Maha pumps work with Schrader valves too. You just remove the Snap It head.

Nico also showed us around the Tiny Tanker pump (£59.99), which is another that we’ve reviewed. It’s another pump that impressed us, and it has the advantage of storing flat so it takes up very little space.

The Tool Chair is another neat idea. It’s a canvas tool carrier that doubles up – you guessed it – as a chair. We can imagine it would be an especially useful option if you go to a race, a sportive, or some other event away from home. Put your bike and the Tool Chair into the car and you’ll have what you need to carry out repairs, plus somewhere to sit while you get on with the job.

The legs fold in when not in use, providing a handle for easy portability, and you can fit a longer shoulder strap too.

Birzman’s UK distributor is www.i-ride.co.uk.

From what I've seen/heard of Birzman it's lovely stuff. Shame I can't bring myself to spend any money with then after that ridiculous and offensive video they released last year. I know I'm not the only person to feel that way, too.

I have one of their new frame pumps with the snap it part, LOVE it and the hose tucks away into the pump very neatly with a little rubber holding it in place

Cracking bit of camera work, that.
