This weekend sees the opening of the UK’s first Cube concept store – at Infinity Cycles near Durham.
The grand opening takes place this Saturday, 16 November. The entire Cube range will be available through the store, including all accessories and clothing.
Various other brands have their own dedicated stores in the UK, but this is a first for Cube. It’s a measure of how far the German company has come in this country over the past few years, and also an indication of its ambitions.
Cube already have concept stores in Germany, as well as two in Switzerland. The brand is now 20 years old with a range that covers most areas of cycling: road, triathlon, mountain biking, touring, commuting, leisure and kids. That includes women’s-specific models. There are about 200 models in all. Cube are best known for their mountain bikes but the road lineup is extensive.
The store’s website is already up and running, with many 2013 bikes currently on sale.
The 2013 Cube Agree GTC Race, for example, is currently down from £1,599 to £1,199. It’s a carbon monocoque with a tapered head tube, Shimano Ultegra components and Mavic Aksium wheels. Sounds good to us!
The store will feature the 2014 range. We took a look at a few models at Cycle Show 2013 back in September, including the £999 Peloton Race which comes with a full Shimano 105 group set (including the brakes and chainset. On paper, it looks like great value.
Cube bikes have been widely distributed in the UK for the last six years, and in the last couple of years the brand has become the fastest growing in this country by some margin. It’s the number one bike brand in Germany.
"We're growing tremendously in the UK, and we feel this is the next step for the brand development and [to] show the full range of products we have, not just our bikes,” said Job Diebel, Cube’s head of marketing and communications.
The Cube Store @ Infinity Cycles is added at Infinity’s existing site on Littleburn Industrial Estate at Langley Moor, five miles from the city of Durham.
Register on the store’s website now for entry into free prize draw. The open day runs from 9:30am until 5:15pm this Saturday and there is – and this might clinch it for you – coffee and cake on offer for visitors.

I suppose you have to right something on the bikes to make up for the black, bloody black. Lest see how 2014 goes...no, i'm wasting my breath. Its another bloody black bike.
not as bad as Pinarello, to be fair. Whoever thought that "Pinarello Dogma 65.1 Think 2" was a good model name needs a stern talking to.
"My 'stable' includes a 2012 Cube Agree GTC"
Never knowingly under-named. You didn't finish...
There's so much text on my 2012 Cube Agree GTC Pro, If I get bored out on a ride, I can sit and read it for twenty minutes.
Good luck to them.
My 'stable' includes a 2012 Cube Agree GTC - and I can't believe how well it rides for the price.
