The bright yellow colour – and it is extraordinarily bright – is ideal for dull grey days when you might want to boost your visibility. The brightness is less effective at night but handily there are some reflective elements, in the side logo and lining the main zipper. A little more around the front of the overshoe would be welcome.
They're made from a coated polyurethane stretch Lycra fabric with a brushed inner. They fit easily over the shoes with a full-length rear zipper securing them into place, with a neat zip puller garage to prevent irritation around the ankle. A small Velcro tab prevents the zipper from accidentally pulling open.
The material does an excellent job of keeping the wind out and goes a long way to preventing your feet from getting cold. The thickness of the material is such that they will cope well into double digit temperatures with no risk of overheating, but on colder mornings I found they came up a little short on warmth compared with thicker overshoes. No surprise really – these are quite thin and really best for intermediate conditions.
They do provide excellent protection in the rain. They are billed as offering waterproof protection and certainly lived up to that when I got drenched on one ride the other week when the heavens opened the moment I closed the front door and didn't really cease until a good few hours into the ride. My feet were kept impressively dry.
The fit is good but they don't conform as closely to my shoes as other overshoes; that does mean getting them on and off is a doddle and very quick, ideal if you're in a hurry to escape the office – no wrestling overly tight overshoes here. The fit is secure and they stay in place well during a ride.
For autumn and mild winter days these are a good overshoe, but if you do feel the cold easily you'll find they lack the insulation of beefier overshoes. The brightness isn't everyone's cup of tea, but you can't beat them for standing out during the day when the light level is dangerously low.

Pulling them on and off, getting covered in gunk, and going through the wash, they're holding up fine. I don't encounter many (any) traffic lights on my rides, and don't walk in them, so no issues of wear and tear on the soles.
