We’re currently in awards season (you did read our Bike of the Year Awards didn’t you?) and the Design & Innovation Award 2016 has just revealed the bikes and products that it considers the best of the best.
The Design & Innovation Awards team consisted of 40 journalists, designers, engineers, marketing experts and even world cup racers. They spent 14 days scrutinising the latest products and using a selection criteria to dish out the awards for, in their opinion, the most innovative products.
What criteria did it use to judge the products? It took into account factors such as innovation, design, performance, weight, vision, quality, efficiency, ergonomics and more. The categories consisted of the best road bikes, mountain bikes, and e-bikes, plus components and accessories.
We’re only going to highlight the products that apply to us here, so it's road bikes and components, but you can see the full list on its website.
