About the trail
All you need to do is decide which challenge is right for you, then visit the registration page and get your team of four signed up! There's a small registration fee of £10.00 per team member plus a sponsorship ask of £500 on the Full Taff event and £300 for taking part in the Half Taff event. All participants will receive a Taff Trail Challenge t-shirt for use during the event.
The Full Taff Cycle Challenge
Join us for one of the most beautifully scenic cycling challenges that Wales has to offer, as we follow the historic Taff Trail from Brecon to Cardiff.
The 52 mile (84km) route takes you along some of the most picturesque views of the Welsh valleys and villages as we follow the Taff Trail along former railway lines, canal paths, tram roads, stunning reservoirs and viaducts.
After starting your challenge in the beautiful market town of Brecon, you will immediately start to see this multi-purpose route start to open up in front of you, and it won’t be long before you see how the Taff Trail manages to bring the countryside into the town...
The Finish Line
Your team will then make their way to the ever developing city centre and the finish line at Bute Park. It is here that you will receive your heroes welcome, and a great sense of personal achievement.
Teams of four riders are invited to take part, and you will need to be 16 years and above to enter our Full Taff Cycling Challenge.
Of course, successfully completing the Taff Trail is only half of your overall challenge, we ask that teams raise a minimum of £500 to take on this challenge – that’s just £125 per team member, so why not set your team a fundraising target and aim to smash it!
Then as you proudly ride each mile, you will know that you are helping us to raise the £3.7million annual running costs of our children’s hospice, which enables us to provide our services to children and families from across Wales.
A registration fee of £10 per rider will secure your place for this hugely popular event, and all participants will receive a Taff Trail Challenge T-shirt for use during the event.
The Half Taff Trail Cycle Challenge
Team on the finish line of the Taff Trail
If you prefer a slightly less energetic ride, then why not take up our Half Taff Trail Cycle Challenge.
Teams of four riders are invited to take up this part of the challenge, and you will need to be 16 years old or above to enter.
The 26 mile route starts at Rhydycar Leisure Centre in Merthyr Tydfil, and heads off along the towpath of the former Glamorganshire Canal and passes small Welsh valley towns that are rich in industrial archaeology.
From here, you will also be joining up with the Full Taff riders as they make their way down from the start of the Full Taff Challenge at Brecon.
Like the Full Taff, riding is only half of your challenge, so why not set your team a fundraising target too (minimum £300).
The Finish Line
All teams will then make their way into the heart of the city and the finish line at Bute Park, in the shadows of Cardiff Castle. It is here that you will receive your heroes welcome, and a great sense of personal achievement.
Like the Full Taff, riding is only half of your challenge though, we ask that you set your team a fundraising target. (for example £300)
A registration fee of £10 per person will secure your place in this exciting new event. All participants will receive a Taff Trail Challenge T-shirt for use during the event.

They should read scampercraft and not exaggerate the danger of scuttling along. I discourage squirrel predation by acting like one.
Wow! That's not a priority lane to allow buses to keep moving, it's a "get slower vehicles out of the way of more important drivers" lane.
You can get the Varia for £10 less from Decathlon.
that would be £30 saved on wheels
