replaced hanger for carrera road bike?

Greetings helpful people,

Has anyone had to replace a hanger on a carrera zealos road bike. My mate has crashed his bike and is struggling to track one down, Halfords are being rather unhelpful.

I suggested buying a new bike that wasn't rubbish but there are sentimental values to consider.

Any insight as to where he could get one would be appreciated.

Cheers

I repaired a Virtuoso where the mech had gone into the wheel and the hanger had a nice 45 degree bend to it. Looked at BETD etc and looked at every hanger they sell to find the right one, it wasn't listed as a Carrera hanger though. Another name to throw into the hat are soshanger.com I went to them when looking for a spare for my Forme which was listed as a Felt hanger.

BETD - they list Carrera tho it's quite possible it'll be covered by some other description:

I've used gearmechhanger.com a few times, they also include stickers in their packages when they post the hangers out to you. I don't know if any of the other companies send free stickers but I know they do and I am really that cheaply bribed.

I think most bike shops should be able to source one, my local changed mine after I crashed my old Virtuoso without much fuss.

+1 for ordering a spare too, handy to have in the toolbox or in the saddlebag if he's a bit crashy.

Tell your friend to Google it and he will find several British companies that specialise in these things. If he can't find his bike listed he can send a tracing of the outline and they will track down what he needs. I speak from experience.

And of course, if he orders a spare as well that will ensure he never, ever needs it.
