@dottigirl - ABP is customizable: you can enabe or disable on a site or specific page, you can set filters to allow specific types of ads through, or select an element (ad) you wish to block and let the rest through.
When I first come to roadcc I may disable ABP, look at the ads, then enable ABP.
I was trying to avoid using Adblock or similar as I recognise road.cc have got to generate some income from somewhere. Plus, I do click on the odd ad, if it's tempting enough.
But, I've just spent five minutes holding the mouse button down to read a couple of articles, and my finger hurts now. I'll be installing it later.
Block annoying ads with Adblock Plus. Available for Android, Apple iOS, Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Maxthon, Opera, Safari and Yandex.
Came already installed on my new Apple, it's marvellous.
I'm sick of them as well. I realise that the website has to be paid for somehow but I'm not sure taking money to alienate subscribers is a goo idea. I'm out
Same on phone and pc, went to the page to report it and it dissappeared !
What has more ridiculous when you browse it on a phone it just randomly opens links to Google Play and some kind of random apps often gambling ones
unusable on my pc too, keeps jumping from the subject to the ad, with no way to stop it
this will kill road.cc
Same here. I can't use the site on my phone so now only check it now and again when I use the kid's laptop that has an ad blocker.
Hear hear! They are making the site unuseable.
Totally agree, I've given up coming on here on my phone during my lunch hour. They completely hijack the relevant article or thread
.
