Sonder Camino opinions? (650b, hydraulic brakes sub £1200 bike)

Hi everyone,

Looking at the Sonder Camino Alu with the Apxex 1x11 and hydraulic brakes.

https://www.alpkit.com/sonder/bikes/sonder-camino-al-sram-apex1-hydrauli...

Seems to be very good value for an allroad/gravel bike.  It also can be specced with 650b wheels which is a massive plus for me for the cycling I'll be doing (commuting rough routes and hopefully some light touring).

Anyone have one?  Other option is the Whyte Glencoe, however, it doesn't have the full Apex groupset and is a hundred quid more.

I'm very close to buying one, just looking to see if someone else has one, there's scant reviews online.

Thanks all 1

Not entirely sure where you are based but you can hire one for the day from either their Peak District or Lake District stores for a minimal fee (pretty sure you get it back if you make purchases in store).

Alternatively they can deliver a hire bike to your house with return postage for £30 so you can actually try it out on your route. All the info can be found here; https://www.alpkit.com/support/stickies/sonder-bike-demo-days

PS. Don't work for Alpkit and never have just ride with a couple of their guys sometimes and they are all great chaps!

have one but bought as frameset so can't comment on full build - nicely finished frame and for me the 3rd bottle mount was a sell as well as fully external cables for easy repairs whilst touring

run mine with 32mm tyres and mudguards but 700c wheels so again not much help

if google hasn't helped quite a lengthy thread over on STW with user opinion

What about this, I prefer 700C wheels, at least you can use 650b if required

or this prepped for winter use
