It was heart in the mouth stuff on the women's pursuit though, top racing! the GB girls looked much tidier than the New Zealanders though, and really strong at the end. well done!
They've got some gold now in the women's pursuit and some silver in the women's teams sprint… er, and some nothing in the keirin despite having two people in the final
still, bronzes first, then silver... shurely shome gold to come?
here in this small isle have a tendancy to rest on our laurels.... (where does this phrase come from? leaning on a hedge? serious, where??)
don't know where the phrase comes from but jamie staff was the living embodiment of it last night... 'we haven't been training that hard, we're just here for a laugh' was the basic gist of his interview after his average-at-best first lap meant the french handed us our arses on a plate in the sprint. again.
It's probably got something to do with the classical greek practice of awarding the winners of sporting contests a laurel wreath.
