Turgot's my go to DS sprinter for stage races but never even considered him for today
Hey, Dave, how about some stats? Out of curiousity, can you tell us how many teams had Eisel, how many featured Turgot and how many had Tossatto? Eisel was probably very popular, although he got points for the wrong reason! But just wondering if there were any souls out there that picked Turgot or Tossatto! Thanks!
Was I the only one with Sebastian Turgot then
Probably, if you had Flecha. 3 of my 4 transfers were ok. Ballan, Rast and Vansummeren, just made a mistake with EBH. Was thinking of Terpstra and Paolini as well but that meant getting rid of Vandenbergh, who did ok himself at 24th and picked up 5 points. Thought long and hard about Flecha and EBH but in the end experience won out and his injury wasn't so significant. Pity about Pozzato's slip as he was probably the only one who could have challenged Boonen,(apart from Cancellara), but he is in a different league this year. Agree about Sky, at least they tried, just think they need to change bike as I mentioned below your original comment.
Oh how WRONG you are
If you click on the riders name when in the pick team mode, it tells you the % of teams that picked the rider for the previous race/stage depending on the comp
Well then i salute you my friend!
About time Europcar turned up this year!
Ok, thanks! But, just to clarify, when it refers to % of teams that picked that rider, is that registered teams, or teams actively playing in the latest stage? or in the current competition? And what would that figure be? I still am curious because on some of these riders, like Tossatto, it says 0%. Does that mean 0 teams picked him or that less than 1% picked him, and it's rounded out to 0?... Just wondering
1,5,6,11,16 +5 pretty good, maybe more points for something else
Pozzato nowhere. Just one big mistake, went for EBH instead of Flecha. Otherwise okish.
Boonen
Ballan
Van Summeren
Rast
plus 5 for Vandenbergh
probably drop a few places in both Classics and overall
it was hulsmnas damn, however i did have rast who i didnt see come in
so 1,3,4,9,11,13
6 in the top 20, defo decent
Well if that is confirmed as the results above, which i think Ballan and Turgot will swap
I only got 1st, 9th and 14th +5
1,3,4,9,11 i think, then poss pozatto came in, not sure if it was him

I think i got a few lower positions
looks like im gonna have picked 3 of the top 4, at least it will be another solid result. Hope Van summeran and poualini comes in high up of the rest
It seems i picked the wrong BMC, Rabobank and Astana riders
18km to go, Boonen with 1.23 lead
25km left, Boonen has 1min now, great effort
My team is looking alright, have a few riders here and there
looking so-so for my team
Boonen out front and then 4 in that chase group
The problem is all other teams will have the riders I have, plus others in that group
Yeah the Arenberg crashes were in the break, but by the time the main pack came out of it, that was down to about 60 riders, Bonnen on his own with 35km to go, 46 second lead and growing, 4 sky riders chasing
Soon as I said that... Boonen and Terpstra now on their own and are building a gap. Chasers need to sort it out quickly. 55k to go.
Arenberg crashes were in the break, not main field, though that did get whittled down a lot as OPQS pushed on. Into last 60k and Boonen and Pozzato have just attacked... gonna be a crazy last hour and a bit, and they've been going at an insane pace. Ballan getting across too now, Turgot of Europcar with them. Chavanel puncture, he's out of equation.
Thor Hushovd (BMC)
Tom Boonen (OPQ)
Pablo Lastras (MOV)
Filippo Pozzato (FAR)
Johan Vansummeren (GRM)
Kris Boeckmans (VCD)
Valentin Iglinksiy (AST)
Maarten Tjallingii (RAB)
Stijn Vandenbergh (OPQ)
Ok thats my team
I made a couple of changes last minute (now) just in from the pub, so i may regret them, I was going to have, so you can all slate me if these guys win
Heinrich Haussler and Maxim Iglinsky instead of Pozzato and Tjallingii
My transfers were easy because they were all none riders
Apr 08, 02:17 Maarten Tjallingii Lieuwe Westra
Apr 08, 02:17 Filippo Pozzato Giovanni Visconti
Apr 08, 02:17 Pablo Lastras Peter Sagan
Apr 08, 02:17 Thor Hushovd Philippe Gilbert
Just come live on Eurosport now, Seems big crashes have been causing havoc in the arenberg trench, Flecha and Ballan trying to get in a break
mine is 2 riders different to nickobec's
Flecha rather than Chavanel
and Pichot rather than Devolder
Boonen
Ballan
Degenkolb
Pozzato
Vanmark
Gallopin
Terpstra
Cooke
Tjallingi
Alessandro Ballan (BMC)
Filippo Pozzato (FAR)
Sylvain Chavanel (OPQ)
Tom Boonen (OPQ)
Sep Vanmarcke (GRM)
Steve Chainel (FDJ)
Johan Vansummeren (GRM)
Bernhard Eisel (SKY)
Luca Paolini (KAT)
A very similar team to nickobec's.
Just checked out the teams of the top 12 overall, did me, davidh and horner187 miss the memo to transfer in Thor Hushovd. Everybody else did.
On the other hand the top 12 classic teams, less than half the teams transferred in Hushovd, far more transfered in Flecha.
Popular star picks (ie almost all teams have Boonen, Pozzato & 2 of the other 3)
Boonen
Pozzato
Ballan
Hushovd
Flecha
A couple have Chavenel, one Degenkolb, one Boom and the unfortunate leader of Classic comp chrisgnewman transferred in Breschel yesterday.
Vanmarcke
Vansummeren
Terpstra
are also in most teams
So for me to improve overall & in the classics comp I need Chavenel, Devolder, Rast & Paolini to perform well and Hushovd, Flecha & Terpstra not to perform
Thor Hushovd (BMC)
Filippo Pozzato (FAR)
John Degenkolb (ARG)
Tom Boonen (OPQ)
Steve Chainel (FDJ)
Tony Gallopin (RSN)
Baden Cooke (GRE)
Luca Paolini (KAT)
Dominique Rollin (FDJ)
Blahhh, BMC got nobody up the road
12 riders 3:40 up the road :
Guillaume Van Keirsbulck (OPQ), Yaroslav Popovych (RNT), Kenny De Haes (LTB), Frederik Veuchelen (VCD), Bert Jan Lindeman (VCD), David Boucher (FDJ), Michael Morkov (SAX), David Veilleux (EUC), Dominic Klemme (ARG), Laurent Mangel (SAU). Aleksejs Saramotins (COF). and Grischa Janorschke (APP).
