My 'Operation Milan' team;
Thomas de Gendt (VCD)
Ryder Hesjedal (GRM)
Marco Pinotti (BMC)
Geraint Thomas (SKY)
Taylor Phinney (BMC)
Alex Rasmussen (GRM)
Adriano Malori (LAM)
Svein Tuft (GRE)
Gustav Erik Larsson (VCD)
Did you get to that team with no penalty points?
Could be a stage winner if so
Gone for
Hesjay
Basso
Henao
DeGendt
Phinney
Rasmussen
Larsson
Rabottini
Golas
Expect podium to be
Hesjay
Sir Thomas of Ghent
Purito
Sergio Luis Henao (SKY)
Ivan Basso (LIQ)
Joaquin Rodriguez (KAT)
Ryder Hesjedal (GRM)
Domenico Pozzovivo (COG)
Gustav Erik Larsson (VCD)
Manuele Boaro (SAX)
Matteo Rabottini (FAR)
Ramunas Navardauskas (GRM)
Considering taking a 20 point penalty to bring de gent for Henao or bass!?
He'd need to be top 4 for a good positive points tally!
I don't think you will, Malori should top 10 but I think Rasmussen will win it.
My team is...
Hesjedal
Basso
De Gendt
Pinotti
Phinney
Rasmussen
Larsson
Clement
Hermans
So hoping for a decent day. My last-minute change of heart was Rasmussen instead of Malori, I hope I don't live to regret that...
Out:Rubiano,Golas,Pozzovivo,Basso
In:DeGendt,Phinney,Rasmussen,Pirazzi
Team:
Uran
DeGendt
Hesjedal
J-Rod
Pirazzi
Rabottini
Barta
Phinney
Rasmussen
I don't like Thomas or Phinney for the longer TT. Don't get me wrong, I think they could easily top 10 or even top 5, but I see them as less likely than others. My outrageous top 5 prediction (now bound to be wrong) for tomorrow is
1. Larsson
2. de Gendt
3. Rasmussen
4. Pinotti
5. Boaro
Others I looked at include of course Thomas and Phinney, but also Malori, Tuft, and Clement.
With that said, here's the team:
Pinotti (IN for Uran)
J-Rod
Hesjedal
de Gendt (IN for Basso)
Larsson (IN for Barta)
Rabottini
Pirazzi
Pozzovivo
Rasmussen (IN for Felline)
He was 4th in the TDF ITT in Grenoble last year behind Tony Martin, Cadel Evans and Alberton Contador, so yes he can.
He wasn't saving himself for it either - he was sixth on the Alpe d'Huez the previous day.
Can De Gendt TT?
I seem to remember him doing well at prologues, but this ones a little longer.
Hmmmm
Stuck in De Gendt, Larsson and Phinney. Nothing to lose as i'm not going to win but a nice little climb up my area standings would do nicely.
J-Bob could be worth a punt too although I didn'y put him in.
Um... I'm sure I saw that Bobridge had called it a day today on one of the text commentaries. Probably worth checking out if you're thinking of having him in your team.
Bobridge DNF according to CN finish list
I've got 4, had a very climby team so I didn't make any changes between 19 and 20 with the ITT in mind.
I've made my changes now, gone with what I put above. Dropped Basso over Rodriguez even though Basso's got the better TT, at this stage I'd rather have the guaranteed points in hand.
I've put Pinotti and Larsson in my team for tomorrow. Only had 2 transfers available so that'll have to be. Long way off winning the bike now in any case.
I imagine that everyone is going to be in the same position? Unless you've been extremely tactical and kept your maximum 4 transfers.
Not decided yet but possibly
Rodriguez
Hesjedal
De Gendt
Pinotti
Phinney
Larsson
Rasmussen
Rabottini
Guardini
My decision really is whether to pick up Phinney or not and who to drop from Rodriguez and Basso. I think Basso has the better TT but Rodriguez has 5 guaranteed points and possibly another 5+ from GC.
here is my team, nothing to hide and dont know when i will be on tomorrow
J-Rod
Basso
Hesjedal
De Gendt (should have took the risk and put him in last night but thought gadret may do something)
Bauer
Sergent
Tshchopp
Larsson
Phinney
Tuft, Bauer and Larsson were my transfers.
I'm not sure about Thomas, I just don't know if he's got it in him to win after a punishing three weeks, Phinney too. The likes of Rasmussen and Larsson seem like safer bets, its a shame that Miller's not racing really.
Haven't got a clue. But i've put Rasmussen and Thomas in. Which means I took out Scarponi. I could have put Phinney in of course and kept Scarponi for gc points.
