Representing himself at the hearing, Lacey said: "I've really got nothing to say. I misjudged how much I'd drunk.
"I had a couple of glasses of wine with lunch and a few pints of beer," he said.
Given I took this picture Beaulieu House, I wouldn't expect any consistency.
Please can you tell me the way to the secret staircase?
I could, but then I'd have to push you down it.
the correct answer was "no, it's a secret"
If you visit his motor museum it's got a little section celebrating all his family's victories in 'the war on motorists'.
In what way is this unreasonable?
(and note only that they COULD be issued a penalty charge)
It's ridiculous that they put pedestrian walkways where cars need to go
Well it could be there as part of the war on drivers, or because the Local Authority "have been invaded by the woke", or as part of a plan to bring road laws into disrepute...
What a shoddy excuse. I've been driving for 40 years too and have no issues figuring out give way triangles and dashed lines.
M27 I think.
An excellent example of complaintese there:
As drivers have been making it harder for people to breath for 75 years or so, complaining of maybe bring fined for it seems pretty rich.
I guess they'll paint double yellows, but that would kind of undermine the logic that you park (only) in a parking bay.
I do wonder how thick some drivers are, even if this is performative to get out of the ticket.
so amended
So could you legitimately climb up and walk over the top of it? Might need spiky-bottomed climbing shoes, mind…
What a load of lemmings! Rushing to motor-geddon, complaining about all these people driving to the shops getting in the way of me driving to the shops
I think there is a defence https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1971/48/section/5
It's the one highlighted by heavymetal handcyclist for damaging cars on pavements that are blocking the footway for wheelchair users.
Driving relies on other people not driving.
The people causing traffic jams complaining about the traffic jams
Theres not one scrap of self-help among drivers is there, it's always someone else's issue.
She added: “I studied environmental science
Obviously, not diligently enough. These dimwit motorists, with the belief that they're entitled to drive and park anywhere at any time, possess no insight or self-awareness beyond 'I demand...'
A killer argument! Not only does using the pedal in the middle (or left for autos) increase the risk of accidents, it actually increases pollution. We should be campaigning to get ALL cars running 24/7 at "the design speed of the road" to save the planet...
Insurance too, and wasn't there something about servicing a while back?
What a dilly of a pickle, it's as though motoring is some kind of luxury pursuit that many people who can't really afford it are trapped into.
Snitchy vigilante...
Never mind all that - you missed the real story!
This is worthy of Chris Morris! What is going on?! Is this the dark side of Deliver-ewe? A new way of camoflaging drugs mules? Has all the cotton wool been used up (for filtering brick dust out of smack)? We need answers!
(Presumably police are now trying to get the lamb to bleat them out).
Insurance? Maintaining your vehicle to a certain standard? I'm sure there wasn't anything in the Garstang guidance about that?!
It does sound like some sharks are trying to take advantage of others who are just exercising their lawful right to drive. Making us into cash cows, they are.
Because of course we have no choice - we have to drive. How else can you reach destinations within say 3 miles or so in a timely manner, or carry more than a couple of kilos around without working up a sweat?
There'd be a lot less crime if the police didn't go out looking for trouble...
Have addicts been reduced to baartering for drugs?
Don't forget that it's always uphill, raining, dark and 1 am.
