Royals ride bikes

The headline should have simply been "William and Kate show off their bike skills in Scotland"
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-67304482

But the anti-cycling BBC somehow had to make it about helmets.

Helmet zealotry is a weird cult.

Chapeau to the royals for this.

And this is coming from a staunch republican here.

The guts required to jump onto an unfamiliar bike, and successfully transition a see saw, and even boardwalk berms are problematic, in front of a crowd and cameras.

And there was me hoping it was going to be about a different Royal on a bike:

To prove the BBC anti-cycling bias, no mention of helmets in yersterday's article:

Catherine, the Princess of Wales, drives armoured vehicle

I saw it yesterday - it was as cringeworthy as expected.

Kate at least had her feet on the pedals correctly.

Yeah, I spotted that this morning, but really didn't want to click on the BBC sycophantic gushing over the royals. They just can't mention bikes without drawing attention to how you'd just immediately die if you didn't wear a helmet and everyone would rightfully say what an idiot you were as it's so incredibly dangerous and not any kind of useful transport solution.

Very weird headline, as you say.
