Shocking moment vandal spray-paints ‘MOVE’ on cars blocking path of prams and wheelchairs in night time rampage (The Sun)

Not cycling, and not in any way condonding vandalism, but there are so many people completely missing the point in this article:

https://www.thesun.co.uk/motors/20661797/vandal-spray-paints-cars-cctv-l...

Quote:

Joyce Smith, 70, said she'd only had the black Fiesta a month ...

The "appalled" retired office worker told The Sun: "We have no idea why we have been targeted.

"We have parked there for months and nobody has said anything.

"Where we park is not anyone’s property just a bit of public road."

It was actually a bit of pavement, Joyce.

And for those out there who are hard of thinking, this pretty much is the definition of vigilantism, not making a digital recording of visual evidence for submission to the forces of law and order.

For those who can't stomach thinking about The Sun, let alone clicking on their website:

Which has quotes from the neighbours showing it might be a war over parking rather than on parking.

The first point to my mind is that a large reason this has happened is precisely because of articles like this concocting a "War on parking".

The second most obvious point is "Just a bit of public road"...

That was the bit I found 'funniest' - "just a bit of public road", as if she thinks that so long as it is not someone's driveway or garden then she can dump her car wherever she wants (even on a footpath).
