Thoughts with the friends and relatives of the deceased and others who were involved.
It's 'cycle hit pedestrian' , yet when a motor vehicle hits a cyclist, it's always 'in collision with' how odd
This seems to be how they do it for motorists in other respects though. They didn't go for "cyclist hit pedestrian" but "cycle hit pedestrian". That's in line with the usual "car hit pedestrian" / "cyclist was hit by a car" - rather than "driver drove into pedestrian".
I know the phrasing of this brings out some great pedant-work though.
Strange how the brain works. I saw 'cyclist' 'pedestrian' 'killed' and reworded the actual sentence.
I wonder if it will ever be known what happened?
I suppose the only positive is that the young woman is relatively unscathed. A tragic incident that is an indication of how vulnerable we cyclists are. But there's probably no one on this site who'd suggest otherwise.

Yup - these pedestrians are dangerous: I think we need to ban walking!

High viz, registration, helmets and insurance...for pedestrians.
