Right, we’ve waded through the 1220 comments you left about what you like most about autumn cycling which included having to read POEMS (note to self, never, ever, ever ask people to do that again) but the psychic trauma has been worth it. We have a winner… and because the standard of entries was so high a couple of bonus runners up too who will be getting some roadcc socks.
Our Vulpine Schwag Grab podium is filled by the speakers of two universal cycling truths and one rather personal truth.
Almost but not quite for robbiezhaorobbiezhao for masterful use of the sympathy card with “The cold rivals that of the heart of my wife” - until you realise that it’s not really that cold at this time of the year, even in East Anglia. (Maybe we should send her some socks too.)
Socks also for tells-it-like-it-is “I just love wearing tights” from wrevilo but somehow it lacks the poe… magic of our winner the tells it like it even more is:
“Shining torch through the fog/mist whilst making light saber noises. Obviously…” by Mattclimb
Yep, that's autumn!
Our winner and runners up have been informed - those who posted poems about nature’s paintbrush turning the trees the colours of their fave beige Vulpine shorts - your names are on a list. First offence, but don’t push it eh.
Thanks to Vulpine for a fab competition, thanks to all of you who entered, commiserations to the 1219 of you that didn’t win, but there WILL be another schwag grab along soon.
=====================================================================================
The whole caboodle is worth more than £500 (£502 to be precise) and includes Vulpine’s:
Original Rain Jacket
Cotton rain trousers
Long Sleeve Merino T-shirt/base layer
Padded Merino Boxer/Boyshorts
Storm Cap
Dogtooth Merino Silk Socks
We’ll pick the lucky winner next Monday, usual Schwag Grab rules apply.
You can find out more about Vulpine's autmn/winter range at www.vulpine.cc
Good luck!

Posh kit
Training rides. Long, steady and sweat free!
After the past couple of days ......nothing
The cold rivals that of the heart of my wife
The cup of tea at the end of a ride and having that little rattle in your throat hours later reminding you of the effort and the chill of the morning ride and looking forward to doing it all again next Sunday morning.
Each day of Autumn complete is one day closer to next summer
Crisp early morning commutes. Hardly anyone else riding because it's so cold.
Genuine need over here! The joy of cycling means u no longer fit my Vulpine kit from 2013. Not ideal cycling in flappy loose clothing as it's getting freezing!
Less competition for the showers at work
The crisp fresh air and amazing dawn light. Love it.
time to try some new clothes!!!!
Oh yeah!
I love the crisp morning air with golden leaves on the ground...is that too soppy??
Mellow fruitfullness.
It's all about the crisp air. And that in the aforementioned cold air I get to wear my nice long sleeve jersey which I like much more than my short sleeved one.
Favourite thing about riding in Autumn is the hills. And the scenery. But mostly the hills.
Seeing your breath as you walk out of your front door.... Being wonderfully dry despite the torrential rain and the crawling car dwellers not understanding your beaming smile as you glide past...
zipping along thorugh autumn colours
Riding in the crap weather making me feel tough
I think of it as an extended summer.
Sudden, hard showers 1/2 way between office and railway station.
Crisp clear days making cycling to and from work well worth the sweat!
That smug feeling when the back tyre skips out on a wet leaf and you hold it!
I get to use some different and new kit and also it's quite fun riding in the pitch black with lights.
Those middle miles when your legs have warmed up but your face is still cold on a freezing cold but dry morning in the autumn, stopping for a coffee and cradling your cup, warming your chilly fingers, stopping at lights and seeing the steam coming through your mates helmet vents.
i like the freshness of the air and the colours of the nature. i also like to feel pretty badass because i am out biking in the rain, its almost allways rain. but any day i ride my bike is a good day. and in a week im done with the last chemo of this cycle.
F*ck cancer

Leaving work early so I can go for a ride in the nearby forest, the low sun making the swirling leaves spark in seemingly hundreds of colors...
Indian summer collapsing into mid-winter in the space of 15minutes.
nice kit
