Right, we’ve waded through the 1220 comments you left about what you like most about autumn cycling which included having to read POEMS (note to self, never, ever, ever ask people to do that again) but the psychic trauma has been worth it. We have a winner… and because the standard of entries was so high a couple of bonus runners up too who will be getting some roadcc socks.
Our Vulpine Schwag Grab podium is filled by the speakers of two universal cycling truths and one rather personal truth.
Almost but not quite for robbiezhaorobbiezhao for masterful use of the sympathy card with “The cold rivals that of the heart of my wife” - until you realise that it’s not really that cold at this time of the year, even in East Anglia. (Maybe we should send her some socks too.)
Socks also for tells-it-like-it-is “I just love wearing tights” from wrevilo but somehow it lacks the poe… magic of our winner the tells it like it even more is:
“Shining torch through the fog/mist whilst making light saber noises. Obviously…” by Mattclimb
Yep, that's autumn!
Our winner and runners up have been informed - those who posted poems about nature’s paintbrush turning the trees the colours of their fave beige Vulpine shorts - your names are on a list. First offence, but don’t push it eh.
Thanks to Vulpine for a fab competition, thanks to all of you who entered, commiserations to the 1219 of you that didn’t win, but there WILL be another schwag grab along soon.
=====================================================================================
The whole caboodle is worth more than £500 (£502 to be precise) and includes Vulpine’s:
Original Rain Jacket
Cotton rain trousers
Long Sleeve Merino T-shirt/base layer

Dogtooth Merino Silk Socks
We’ll pick the lucky winner next Monday, usual Schwag Grab rules apply.

Mist in the bottoms & blue sky over the tops.
Get to work quicker if you put less time thinking what your comment should be to win this prize
Not sweating too much!
Cycling in the autumn is cool.
Because clear cool air and autumn colours make me feel alive and ready to face whatever winter brings.
This is going to be my best autumn, with a wonderful choice of Vulpine clothing for each ride...bring on the crisp and cool, I can't wait!
Cooler temperatures, not freezing yet, perfect for commuting to work without sweating.
Cold clear mornings, the colours of the trees and the feeling of another year drawing itself to a close. Love that rain jacket!!
You get to put on fluorescent clothes and play with flashing lights without feeling like a reject from the 90s.
Cycling through dry autumn leaves
The changing scenery and colours, starting off a ride with more layers than you end up with, gradually peeling them off as the day warms up. And coffee just tastes better in the autumn during and after a ride. In the evenings its that crisp but not yet winter chill
Nailing what to wear of a morning – warm enough without getting too hot; only feeling the cold on my cheeks.
The roads are less busy.
Best thing about autumn riding, is it's still riding. Any time you get to ride is good time!!
It's a sign that Christmas is on its way - and new cycling goodies!
I love cycling in the autumn because the racing season is over, club runs are more sociable and we can all ride together enjoying the autumn scenery, pranks with club mates and cafe stops
Wonder if it can withstand the bitter northeast weather??
That the energy bar in my pocket has neither melted nor frozen into a tooth breaking block.
The quick commute to work......only takes 5mins
Best on a nice dry crisp morning before others are out of bed.
Bring it on

The colours, of course!
That feeling as you start warming up and the sun rising warms your back.
Bit chilly of a morning, yes please
I like the smell of the fallen leaves and the wood burning in the chimneys that you get in the countryside, the cold that lightly stings my cheeks and the hot beverage that I get when I return home thinking I was a hero to go against the elements
riding in the early evening and having to guess which way the road bends because you have forgotten how blooming dark it gets
For me it's riding in that early evening light that always seems just right against the backdrop of golden leaves. Then flick on the lights and cruise home to warmth and proper winter food!
Cool crisp days with long rides in a forrest of changing colors.
My favourite thing are those crisp, blue skied, early autumn cafe rides, with all the colourful Autumn ambience, but when it's still just about warm enough to sit outside with a cappucino, a slice of cake and some good cycling buddies!
Crisp morning rides over Dartmoor the scenery is spectacular, now must just go and actually do one this year!
