Autumn cycling means I'm getting closer to my following spring trip to Mallorca.

Misty morning rides, crunching leaves under tyre and preparing to say goodbye to dry roads and dusty trails.

When the low sun shines through the trees, the colours are truly fantastic and the best way to experience it is on a bike.

Out on the bike when the sun is hitting the brown and golden tree tops and casting shadows across the road.

My favourite thing in the autumn is the Saturday morning ride - when there are no cars around and the sound of cutting through the air when riding downhill from Highgate on sunny days - it's awesome!

Riding in late afternoon with what's left of the sunlight filtering through trees that are losing their leaves and feeling the first taste of winter through numb toes and fingers. That's autumn riding

The dimmer evenings in the autumn turns my ride along the Clyde walkway into a real wildlife adventure - I never know if it'll just be the rabbits and squirrels or whether I'll see one of the foxes or red deer that live in the woods alongside the path.

The beautiful misty mornings and warming the toes up in front of the fire!

I love going out in the early evening when the sun is just setting and returning in the dark so I can use my lights (gives me an excuse to buy new ones).
Low traffic and pure bliss

The freshness of the air and there are less fly's for me to swallow.

It's the light, especially earlier in the day, the colours which are beys appreciated when moving slowly, returning home to a cuppa and biscuit after having been out in the chill. And then best of all, after all this zzzzzzz zzzzzzzz zzzzzzzz

Howling gales, driving rain, debris strewn roads and appropriate clothing.

Getting up in the dark and watching the sun rise from the saddle.

Watching the leaves change colour, then fall as the temperature goes down. Knowing that I'm not going to dissolve into a puddle after a ride to work (summer can be too hot in shorts and short sleeve shirt).

The colours of the leaves; being out in the deep blue dusk; not getting so sweaty.

Early morning commute cold toes, warmed mood.

Falling leaves reminds you to enjoy the last rides before winter sets in. Saying that with the new vulpine kit it would make the commute and club rides into next year a lot more pleasurable.

Getting started on cold mornings is hard but when you get your legs spinning nothing better.

Best thing about riding in Autumn (and winter) ? That's easy, when my foes are inside lying on a settee getting fatter and slower I'm outside getting leaner and faster ready for when spring comes
