Video: Victoria Pendleton joins MPs on Parliamentary Bike Ride

The divine Ms P also revealed as fan of I Pay Road tax jersey

World and Olympic Champion track star Victoria Pendleton has joined members of the All Parliamentary Cycling Group and other dignitaries on a bike ride around Westminster ahead of Bike Week, which starts tomorrow, and the jaunt was captured in a short film by Carlton Reid, the man behind the I Pay Road Tax campaign, among other projects.

As Carlton revealed on his Twitter stream, the first thing Pendleton, who was riding the bike she has designed for a charity auction that took place at the London Transport Museum earlier this week said to him was “I love your jersey!” – an I Pay Road Tax.com number in white, naturally.

Among those taking part in the ride was the Mayor of London’s Director of Transport, Kulveer Ranger, on one of the bikes from the soon-to-be-launched Barclays Cycle Hire Scheme, resplendent with the bank’s livery on its rear side panels.

Simon joined road.cc as news editor in 2009 and is now the site’s community editor, acting as a link between the team producing the content and our readers. A law and languages graduate, published translator and former retail analyst, he has reported on issues as diverse as cycling-related court cases, anti-doping investigations, the latest developments in the bike industry and the sport’s biggest races. Now back in London full-time after 15 years living in Oxford and Cambridge, he loves cycling along the Thames but misses having his former riding buddy, Elodie the miniature schnauzer, in the basket in front of him.
