Jon Dibben joins Team Sky from WIGGINS

Points race world champion joins fellow neo pros Owain Doull and Tao Geoghegan Hart on Team Sky for 2017

Team Sky has signed world points race champion Jon Dibben, from team WIGGINS.

The 22-year-old Brit, who won the points race world title on the track in London earlier this year, has ridden for WIGGINS on the road for the past two seasons, and joins neo-pros Owain Doull and Tao Geoghegan Hart with Team Sky for 2017.

As well as his success on the track, this year Dibben secured a top ten in the world championship road race, came second in the Under-23 Tour of Flanders and in the top three for three stages of the Tour de l’Avenir.

He said: "It's very exciting. It's going to be a big change and obviously a big step up, going from Team WIGGINS and an academy which is very track-focused, to go into the biggest cycling team in the world.

"It's certainly a large step up and it's a great opportunity to get into the big leagues and see what it's all about.

"Obviously I know Owain and Tao - they are two of my best mates - so it's good that we're all joining the team together. It's certainly a whole new environment and a different lifestyle. It's a big change and it's something I'm looking forward to."

Just remember, it’s Jon, not Jonny.
