Cyclists on London Cycle Superhighway CS3 repeatedly targeted by tack-spreading saboteurs

Tacks strewn on Cable Street at least three times in two weeks

The Cable Street section of London’s Cycle Superhighway 3 (CS3) has been targeted by tack-spreading saboteurs for the third time in little over a fortnight.

Earlier this morning, Facebook user Ash McEvoy warned cyclists using the East London cycle lane.

When the message was shared by Dr Morocho on Twitter, he received a response from London Dynaslow suggesting that this wasn’t even the first time this had happened this week.

Furthermore, on May 22 TenInchWheels reported finding tacks in the same location and pointed out that while there were tacks in the cycle lane, they hadn’t extended as far as the adjacent road.

Alex has written for more cricket publications than the rest of the road.cc team combined. Despite the apparent evidence of this picture, he doesn't especially like cake.

If ISIS were to claim responsibility, I'm sure the problem would have been stopped immediately!

Those aren't tacks. They're clouts.

I think I use things like those to try and get the waterproofing roofing felt stuff to stay on the side of my shed.

Probably kids sodding about or perhaps modern highwaymen robbing travellers of their gold on the way to the city.

Never mind that it's right opposite a junior school, and kids are notoriously steady on their feet, you'd hope that MPS might pay a tiny bit of attention even if they couldn't give a fook about cyclists.

Also a semi-regular occurrance on the CS7. Except they are thumbtacks...

Is a thumbtack like a drawing pin?

I really question the sanity of the people that do this. Whichever group of traveller this person belongs to (motorist, pedestrian or public transport user), they're shooting themselves in the foot as it will likely push cyclists back onto the road or further clogging up London's already clogged public transport system.

Some of our fellow humans are such lovely creatures.
