Cervelo has launched the brand new S5 Disc, a complete redesign of its flagship aero race bike, in the process giving it the disc brake treatment. The company claims the new bike is "42 grams faster than its predecessor", or the equivalent of 5.5 watts.

2. Thomas De Gendt and Tim Wellens bikepacking home to Belgium after Il Lombardia
Lotto-Soudal riders Thomas De Gendt and Tim Wellens will be finishing their season a week on Sunday at Il Lombardia, but they’ll still have a bit of riding left to do – the pair have decided to bikepack their way back to Belgium from Italy. The itinerary of their 1,000-kilometre trip, which is due to last six days, was shared by De Gendt on Twitter.

3. Floyd Landis sets up his own pro cycling team
Floyd Landis, who was stripped of his 2006 Tour de France win for doping and later provided testimony that helped bring down his former team mate Lance Armstrong, is launching his own cycling team. They will be sponsored by the Floyd’s of Leadville legal hemp and cannabidiol (CBD) business, and are aimed at bringing on young riders. Wonder if it will all go up in smoke eventually?
