From today the way you log in to road.cc (and to all the road.cc family of websites) is changing as we’ve added a new feature - Single Sign On.
Single Sign On means that if you’re logged in on one of our sites: road.cc, off.road.cc, ebiketips, you’re logged in on all of them with all the commenting, liking, forum posting, event publicising benefits that brings. So if you’re logged in to road.cc you can comment on an off.road gravel bike review without having to set up an off.road.cc user account. And the same applies if you’re an off.road.cc user who wants to comment on something road.cc or indeed ebiketips… we don’t have comments on DealClincher at the moment, but now we could have and it’d be easy for you to comment there too, if you’re logged in to any of the other sites.
SSO FAQs
Okay, no-ones asked any of these yet but here’s some of the questions we’re anticipating.
Q. If I’m already logged in to one of the sites will I have to log out and then back in again?
A. Yes, you will. Sorry.
Q. Will the log-in process change in any way?
A. Yes and no, the log in page will look slightly different in that it will show all our sites on it, you then choose the one you want to log in to - from there the log in process will be the same and once you’re logged in you’ll be logged in on that particular site (and all the others too). The one slight difference will be for users of off.road.cc and ebiketips.co.uk in that when you log in the site will automatically return to the page you were on - something that already happens when you log in on road.cc.
Q. If I already have an account on road.cc and off.road.cc or ebiketips.co.uk will they all be amalgamated or what?
A. If you’ve already got multiple accounts your road.cc one will take precedence. When you switch to another site you may get a message prompting you to repair your account, if you use a different username and the same email address. Going through this process will link the accounts so you'll be able to sign on with the single account next time.
Q. Will this have any effect on my post count?
A. No, only road.cc has post counts at the moment so that will be unaffected. It does though raise the possibility that we could in the future introduce them to the other sites, which would be nice.
That’s it, it’s not a big change but we hope it will add to your enjoyment of all of our sites, if you’ve got any questions or comments fire them in below and we’ll do our best to answer them.

I'm having issues on off-road.cc signing in - can't repair the account due to a password issue and the contact admin link is 404'ing.
Can you please help?

I wouldn't bother - it would just be endless variations of "you're just a corporate shill" and "this is a crap deal because I don't want that product".
Getting multiple sign outs during a session on the desktop too, some just a few minutes apart.
Having to login on my phone every time I come back to the site.
I don't think the logging thing is working properly, I log in on here, go to road cc facebook page, it's already one of my go to facebook accounts, but when I come back here I'm not logged in and have to press log in button. I've been logged out before with a note that I have been logging in too many times. A bit confusing really. Perhaps it's just me.
Well done

Good news!
Is there a chance we might be able to access our posting history as part of this? Sometimes I'd like to go back and look at articles I've jabbered on previously.
yes. there's a redesign to work through first though
All good stuff team
Good, I had been wondering if you were going to do this, I even thought about suggesting it, it is something that I discovered Singletrack had been doing over their sister sites.
