E-bike retailer Bike Republic opens concession in Selfridges

Electric bike retailer Bike Republic has announced that it has opened a concession in the Oxford Street branch of upmarket department store chain, Selfridges. The move follows a successful trial last year featuring e-bikes from GoCycle and Ultra Motor.

Those will be joined in the Bike Republic concession, which is located in the lower ground floor of the store, by e-bikes Wisper and Ebco Eagle, but for those who prefer to use their own legs to provide the power, there will also be bikes from Vanmoof, Schindelhauer and Cooper, as well as helmets from Nutcase. Bikes can be ‘road-tested’ in the Selfridges garage, located on the far side of the store from Oxford Street.

Jonathan Cole, Managing Director of Bike Republic, commented: “We are delighted to be working with Selfridges again to promote these amazing products. With fuel prices at an all time high we are seeing a huge demand for our commuter bikes. The new fixed gear, city and road bikes are a very exciting addition to our superb e–bike range“

Bike Republic isn’t the first bicycle retailer to open a concession in Selfridges, however – Cycle Surgery operated there a few years back, although we imagine that lack of visibility from the street wasn’t ideal,with passing cyclists in all likelihood not knowing it was there and it now has its own standalone store not too far away in Great Portland Street.
