Police in east London have appealed for a cyclist whom they wish to trace after a bike rider was killed in a crash involving a Tesla car and a private hire vehicle.
The fatal collision happened at around 1745 hours on the evening of Monday 14 August this year in Great Eastern Street, Shoreditch in the London Borough of Hackney.
Detectives who are investigating the incident believe that the cyclist in the picture may have had an interaction with the driver of the Tesla shortly before the crash.
The victim, a 40-year-old man, passed away on Tuesday 19 September, five and a half weeks after the collision.
Police said that his family is being supported by specialist officers.
The Tesla driver, a 44-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and was taken into police custody.
He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
Officers added that the driver the private hire vehicle sustained minor injuries.
Detective Constable Phil Stokes from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “We believe that the cyclist pictured can assist with our investigation and may have vital information.
“If you know him, or if you are him, please do get in touch.”
Anyone with information or dashcam footage relating to this incident is asked to call police on 101, or Tweet @MetCC quoting 6021/14Aug.

I'd charge high income offenders with the cost of their imprisonment. If it's income from assets charge them twice.
And presumably you don't have as much media over there stoking the divisions and encouraging the view of cyclists as "other"?

I presume that Lime bikes are dockless? So, how would Lime be able to stop someone just leaving the bike anywhere at all?
