The Hincapie Power Jersey is a lightweight, airy jersey for everyday summer riding.

The Power Jersey is made from two different types of fabric. The vast majority of panels are Aerator double-weave fabric, which is a type of polyester. It's very lightweight and it's covered in little dimples that allow air in, helping with cooling and drying.

The panels on the sides, the undersides of the arms, and behind the neck are made from VenTech, which is a polyester/Spandex mix. As you can imagine, this is a lot more stretchy, giving you good freedom of movement. This material is dimpled too, allowing plenty more ventilation.

The Power jersey is very cool in hot weather because of all that airflow. The flip side is that you probably won't get much use out of it when the temperature is below about 20°C – unless you wear something underneath or on top, of course.

If you do work up a sweat, the Power Jersey deals with it well. You can get the fabrics damp, of course, but they dry out really quickly – that's this jersey's biggest strength.

Another point in its favour is the fact that the seams are flat-lock stitched throughout. It's a neat touch on something that's likely to be worn right next to your skin.

The waist is elasticated with a silicone gripper inside to help it stay in place while the full-length front zip comes with a large metal puller that makes for simple on-the-fly adjustments.

You get a zipped rear pocket in addition to three open-topped ones in the lower back, and the little black logos on the front and rear are actually reflective. The same is true of some of the stitching used for the panel behind the neck, although you'd never notice that in daylight. The jersey offers SPF 30+ protection. All in all, there are quite a few cool little features here.

Finally, a word on sizing... I had a medium jersey but I think it fits more like a large. If you go to the relevant page on Hincapie's website https://www.hincapie.com/products/menswear/jerseys/R101M13/ and click on the sizing chart, you'll get all the info you need to ensure the right size.
