Five cool things coming soon from Rapha, Santini, Lumicycle, Cateye and Endura

Another selection of brand spanking new products that will be getting the full road.cc review treatment soon...

We (sort of) enjoyed a week of relatively settled yet chilly weather last week, but now it looks like it's back to the wind and rain in the south west for the foreseeable. Perfect for trying out some wet weather winter gear, then!

Cateye Sync Wearable

£49.99

Cateye Sync Wearable - bright.jpg

One of Cateye's diddier lights (check out our review of the cheaper Wearable X also, a similar size with a few less lumens) this light can be customised via Cateye's Sync app, and quick and easily attached to your seatpost, clothing or luggage. It's USB rechargeable and pumps out 40 lumens on high, while Cateye's lightKinetic technology gives a 50 lumen flash when it senses that you're braking (this works only when used in conjunction with the Sync Kinetic rear light and the Sync app). The low flash mode has a 45 hour run time, and you can get 1.5 hours for the highest setting. Check back for Matt Lamy's test report in early December.

Rapha Commuter Jacket

£100.00

Rapha Commuter Jacket 2018 - 5.jpg

It's fluoro or nothing with Rapha's Commuter jacket, as it's available in orange, pink, yellow or black with no real in between if you want something subtle that isn't black. The price isn't as high as you might expect from Rapha here, and this jacket sees them try to hit the commuter market with a more affordable, everyday offering. The fabric has a hydrophobic membrane to make it highly waterproof, and the seams are sealed tp prevent water ingress. The full length zip is off-centre at the top so it doesn't rub your chin, and it also has a light hood that can be worn under a helmet. A reflective dot print on the tail is added for extra visibility, and if you go for one of the colour options you'll be pretty visible in any case...

Santini 365 Fiord Extreme Winter Long Finger Glove

£75.00

Santini 365 Win Fiord Long Finger Glove - back.jpg

These are some of Santini's thickest winter gloves for deep winter, claiming to keep your fingers toast all day long while providing decent grip. The palm has a non-slip silicone grip with anti-shock properties to keep your hands comfortable, and the fabric is reinforced between the thumb and the forefinger so they will last you multiple winters. Are they worth the investment? The review is coming soon.

Lumicycle Explorer PLus LED Light System

£339.95

Lumicycle Explorer PLus LED Light System.jpg

This lighting system /could be the only light you need' accoridng to Lumicycle, and pumps out a whopping 3650 lumens on full power. It's fully modular so can be paired with any of Lumicycle's other battery packs and accessories, and a crystal clear beam penetration is promised for tackling the gnarliest of trails. There are seven different mode and the body is made from 6061 aircraft grade aluminium to make it very durable indeed. The LED's are optimised to render greens particularly well so you can better pick your line on dense tree-lined sections of trail. The light with mount included weighs in at just 177g, not bad considering how powerful it is. Dave Arthur is out using it in the pitch black at the moment, with the review coming soon.

Endura Pro SL Shell Jacket II

£164.99

Endura Pro SL Shell Jacket II.jpg

Endura's latest technical packable rain jacket uses a three layer construction, and weighed in at just 193g on our scales even though it's highly waterproof. It can fit in jersey pocket and there are stretch panels throughout to provide a non-flap fit on the bike, while you get a rear access zip to get to your jersey and there's also a small external pocket on gthe jacket itself for extra storage. Endura claim the jacket is also highly breathable, with an 'ultrafine, fluorine free membrane protected by a superfine denier tricot laminate and impregnated with a proprietary compound enhancing moisture transfer' doing the business for you... sounds real fancy, but is it any good? The verdict will be in early next month!
