Basically, KoM points don't score on a summit finish in the same way green jersey points don't score in a sprint finish. You get a fixed amout of game points for the final result for every stage regardless of whether it's flat or mountainous.
so, for example, today, we have the rather odd scenario where Aru now leads the KOM comp in TdF by virtue of the points he scored on last climb, yet it appears these wont count for our scores (other than KOM overall 5 points).
This is weird because generally the scoring in the past in different comps has been affected by availability of results from official sources, which is not an issue here ie the points we score closely follow reality.
If it doesnt happen, fine, but I am interested in why this anomaly exists?
