Sorry to ask, but how do I turn off notifications? I clicked yes and now am beginning to regret it a bit. Just getting a bit annoying.
hit 'settings' next time one comes up, and unsubscribe. or go into settungs > security and privacy, you can do it on a per-site basis there
I keep seeing articles on the front page from months, even years ago - is something wrong with the render algorithm?
no. but there are some learning curves with the new way the site works
I can't see comments on articles - also just see the spinning wheel. Desktop Safari - it works if I use Opera. Frankly getting a bit bored of the hassle with so many formatting issues.
do you have an ad blocker on Safari? turning it off worked for me
Yes, Adblock - turning it off allows me to see SUV car adverts - great. Now trying Ghostery Lite which seems to be working well - no adverts (but lots of blank space) and I can see comments.
Privacy Badger is a better bet than Ghostery (Lite) as it's made by EFF - one of the most trustworthy organisations around. (I've heard rumours that Ghostery ends up selling your info).
Unfortunately, it doesn't work on Safari.
I still have problems on mobile.
Comments don't load under any article - just get the spinning time wheel
The 3 line 'hamburger' top left corner is not responsive and doesn'r bring any menu up.
Tried on mobile and desktop view on Android 9, Chrome and Dolphin browsers
Ad blocker? Were you signed in?
And how did you make this post?
My ad blocker borks comments. I've whitelisted the site.
That was it, dolphin has a built in ad blocker I didn't realise was there. Thanks.
Also have a PC 😉
Updates today (13 feb):
image away
Don't mind if I do
Damn, beat me to it.
well obviously i'm really glad i made that change now
Good luck in your new job as The Times' ad designer, hp
Thanks very much.
Ace!
Who else knew Ned Boulting was in Monty Python?
I very much hope not.
Liking the rest of the new-look site, especially now as comments are easier to get to. Good work guys.
It's a big improvement, but by heck, it doesn't half look like the Guardian!
Agreed. First time I saw the new design I thought I'd come to the wrong site.
Minor quibble, but the "Latest Comments" section only shows 3 and a bit comments (on my screen anyway) and the little dots to navigate are a terrible idea unless you want to ensure that only accurate mousers can use them.
Anyone else seeing sidebar ads overlaying the forum content? ping me a screenshot and browser/OS details if so: dave [at] road.cc
I did get it on the left, but I just reduced the text size a bit (ctrl -ve) and it went away. Damn my awful eyes.
Ohh, and a little one, the quick click to take you to the comments when opening a page has gone. Which I did like. Bit more scrolling required.
Aaaah I hate change. I'm sure I will adapt though..
One weird thing is that the side bar ads are now for obscure (to me) Italian stage plays, singers and a tent sale in Verano.
I'm pretty sure I'm not in Italy.
Newest at the top, but direct replies going down is really confusing when there's only an indent to differentiate posts visually
