I went onto the official UCI world champioship site and through google it takes you through the course. Some of it seems fine but there also appears to be a lot of open ground with no protection so if it's windy it might be a nightmare.
It also appears to be perfectly flat ?

It does look a bit open at places, but its also been steam rolled and all the houses are like pancakes in some parts
Didn't go on youtube but it's probably the same provided by Google. Yor right about the pancake houses though
I think I remember seeing a Tweet from Pinotti in which he also seemed unimpressed
