Tour of Oman. Stage 4

Heres the profile for tomorrow http://www.steephill.tv/players/aso-profile/?race=tour-of-oman&stage=4&y...

Looks like an interesting stage lots of hills but only a small climb up hill for the last 5km. so who to drop who to keep is the question, Will the break succeed or will be another bunch finish? Lots of question and 4 transfers saed up. I think this stage and the next will be the ones to make a big difference in points

Yeah, if you went from the North West of Oman to the South East of England then it would be alot closer, i could only find coordinates in a fast search for Muscat, thats why i used it for reference

Gkam, blame the guy that got these two tours included.

I was looking forward to a lovely long, free February until Paris Nice.

If I'd have had my way, Het Nieuwesblad would have been included, along with Kuurne - Brussels and back. Commonly referred to as the SEASON OPENERS by old Belgian men.

Does it normally take this long for the scores to go up? 7

TBH we may well go with the volta next year. we picked the Tour of Oman because it's on the ASO website which means results are easy to come by. the volta website seems to have decent results although i'm not sure how timely they are with them as i haven't been following the race.

anyway it was a last minute addition, and the only person moaning seems to be gkam, so i'll call that a win 1

I'm off to commit suicide now 14 I got 3rd, but still not good, thinking i'm gonna give up the game this year, doing my nut in already and with unreliable coverage and reports/profiles, i give up, its not even fun like it was last year with prizes for every race, takes the fun element away

Dont worry mate there's a long way to go yet and i cant wait for your tips on the grand tours to see how many fall for them AGAIN 24

1. Greipel (LTB) 2. Sagan (LIQ) 3. Gallopin (RNT) 4. Bouhanni (FDJ) 5. Sutton (SKY)

1,2, 4, 5 happy me

Same! Had Gallopin in ToQ but not Oman although I thought about it! Could have had the top 5. Damn!

Yeah there is a long way to go, but its now spoiling my enjoyment of cycling, I can understand taking in Qatar, but what was the point in Oman, NO TV coverage, having to rely on twitter for updates from one person out there, not seeing the previous stage until the deadline for the next transfers were done, all a bit pointless

Last year this game enhanced my viewing of the races because it was a bit like the horses, you cheer on your guys, cant do that with Oman

I felt the same way after I messed up in the TdF last year.

To be fair there was supposed to be coverage of Oman, but that's Eurosport for you. Watch the Volta, good countryside, no fantasy team to worry about, a hilltop finish today and Wiggins to cheer on!!

Well, the riders I already had did well and the transfers did nothing, but as I'm building towards tomorrow we'll have to see. Boonen's done ok considering he's not supposed to be trying.

Rather improbably, Oman is almost as close to the UK (in terms of latitude) as it is to the Equator 26

Almost the same here 5 of the 6 (Guardini the odd one out) I kept scored points 174 in all, the 3 I transferred in 3 points (Fuglsang 8th overall)

Hoping the 177 points is relatively better the yesterdays 182 which was =62nd and saw me dropped 2 spots overall (even if it did move me up 1 place in the Tour of Oman comp).

Though I do expect the winning score for today to exceed 220 points

GREIPEL, SAGAN, GALLOPIN, BOUHANNI, SUTTON, KOHLER, NAVARDAUSKAS & COOKE were all popular picks ( up until today) even CHAVANEL was not out of the question, though anybody who all DE NEGRI needs a special crystal ball award

Are you sure about that?
Today's stage crossed the Tropic of Cancer, i always thought that was pretty close to the equator?

The profile of this stage was fine. It was the lack of one on 2 that pissed me off! Following through twitter is not ideal. But Sagan and Greipel are on good form. It's not that surprising.

I may have seriously messed up BIG style today, i thought the sprinters would sit back and take it easy up the larger of the 3 climbs today, seems i was wrong, bunch sprint coming up and i got rid of ALL my sprinters in readyness for tomorrow where they will be of no use.

The reason i switched 4, so that i can have 4 transfers after tomorrows stage to get them back in, might work, might not, as long as i dont drop to far off

My aim for this season is to win my region, anything else is a bonus 4

I was chatting about this stage with someone yesterday and it struck me that with Milan-San Remo only four weeks ago, this is exactly the kind of stage that would give Cav a good workout for that. I kept him in, but more because once again I forgot to do transfers than anything else 20

It's Bernie Eisel's birthday today. Cav said on twitter that, as a birthday gift to bernie, he will not get dropped from the bunch and make bernie wait for him 1

well my team is sort of half and half, due to a messed up original selection

Oss
Rod
Sagan
Kittel

Nava
Krupois
Selig
Gallopin
Bouhinni

so a nice Sagan, Oss, Gallopin 1,2,3 would be nice and somehow kittel to be in there

Kept Sagan and Griepel for today, Andre impressed me on stage 2.

Swapped out Galimzyanov for Veltis, don't expect Denis to be in the lead bunch today

Gambled by swapping out Farrar for Fuglsang, Tyler might finish in the lead group or not.

Replaced Selig with Lebas. Thomas finished in 11th on stage 2 in good company and is 11th overall. My rank outsider for today and maybe tomorrow.

Sticking with Bouhann, Cooke and Sutton (all with a good change to finish in the front group today) and Guardini (not in the front group today, but saving a transfer and points for one of the big gun guns tomorrow for Grepiel and 4 transfers for Sunday)

Got a similar strategy with Sagan, Greipel, Fulgsang and Jeannesson (least sure about this choice but always a fan of FDJ) for today. Haven't decided for tomorrow. End of this stage is easier than 2 I think, but we'll see.

Looks like cav is attempting to stay in there, would by typical for it to be a bunch sprint now I have dropped him and the rest of my sprint team,

Put in J-Rod, Fuglsang, Guysev and Sagan for my 4 sprinters. Kept Hayman and Steegmans for the "you never know" side of things.
