As it turns out, the Channings were perfectly able to cope with hungry/thirsty cyclists on Saturday and Big Andy behind the bar looked after my overnight bag.
The way I feel today I'm wondering if I should've sent my bag with someone and slept in the back office...
Food wise, I can highly recommend 'Falafal King' either in the centre (a takeaway style van) or they have a cafe on Cotham Hill, which is fairly close to channings hotel.
cheers Tony & Dave
Am already on mailing list and am looking forward to the ride (and maybe getting a bit lost)
Was going to drive down but I reckon getting the train across from Gatwick and changing at Reading's my best bet, especially since Mrs Lul's declined the chance to come with me and spend a night alone in Bristol.
Wonder if Channing's would do a luggage drop for us? Worth dropping them a line, do you think?
Channing's hotel, where the ride starts, will be putting on a BBQ and they have a decent menu on the go too. there'll be an email to the exmouth mailing list this week about that, so if you're not already on it go to the website and stick yourself down
Hmm… cos it's so near Bath, have never had need to use left luggage facilities at Bristol Temple Meads, which is just as well cos a quick scoot around Google suggests there aren't any.
Eating places, I'm sure one of the guys riding can fill you in better than me, but I'm pretty sure there's a pub that does good food pretty near the start… if only I could remember what it is called.
