DrH - like it !
Wonder if we will ever see Frank S again on the roads ? He might get a job as a bidon carrier for someone
@Ray: And yet, if someone suddenly set up a new pro-team with that line-up, you'd probably think "yeah, fairly tasty!"
true enough but they just don't rack up the fantasy points and it'll be interesting to see the change in prices next season for some of them.
We'll probably see Pinot,Izagirre,Tiralongo,Westra,Moser and perhaps even Phinney elevated to stars next season
Contador, he's done nothing all season. I don't even remember seeing him once this year, completely anonymous in the grand tours.
Evans,Farrar,Cobo,Petacchi,Renshaw,Menchov,Rujano,Hoogerland,Eisel,Riblon,C.Meyer,Coppel would be my ones to avoid.
Shit sorry. I listed my riders just on this years form and not on the fantasy points. So yeah. EBH would be my pick for highest priced in game under achiever
But, as far as Fantasy points go, what has EBH come away with? Not much. I blame team tactics, but that's not the point. As far as Fantasy cycling goes, Boassen Hagen has been a bad investment for most people this year.
Raleigh.....Really??? EBH?
He did all the work in the first half of most stages in the TdF for Sky.
I didn't mean anything personal about the riders being "overrated", just strictly from a budget vs. returns point of view. For example, I still think Thor is among the best riders out there when he's well, but I'm not about to spend all that money to put him on my team.
Gilbert last year was like Sagan this year... you just couldn't afford to NOT have him on your squad if he was racing.
Contador?
Oh wait...
Errrr...
Yep, Martin and Renshaw.
Goss?
Tom Danielson?
Nick Nuyens.
Geraint (road only, but obvs he was concentrating on track this year)
MEHDI SOHRABI who was unable to defend his three grand tour wins of last year, a complete one off.
Theo Bos a bit.
Thomas Lofkvist.
EBH fo' sure.
Scarponi.
Chris Hoy, Bradley Wiggins, Laura Trott, Vicky P..............
But seriously... Cobo, Renshaw, Montfort, Pettachi.
Thor Hushovd has been suffering when something major since the Giro. So I don't think you can put him on the list. He's been unwell.
Schlecks have always been over rated in my eyes.
Renshaw has been doing the work for others again this season. He moved to the wrong team in my eyes. He's playing second fiddle to the likes of Bos
I suspect you have put Gilbert on the list because he didn't do anything like he did in 2011?? You can't be the best EVERY season. He for me is also in the wrong team.
For me, I'd stick
Lampre (full team)
RSNT (most of the team)
Bauke Mollema (Might show in Vuelta)
Juan José Cobo (Might show in Vuelta)
Sylwester Szmyd (Nibali's mountain goat, but was nowhere to be seen)
Christophe Le Mevel (Very quite this year)
Sandy Casar
Igor Anton
Cadel Evans (always been over rated until last seasonin my eyes)
Rein Taaramae
There are a few to think about
Defo Renshaw.
Tony Martin and Gesink haven't really produced when the pressure was on although they have had victories - tour of california and tour of belgium.
When you look at 2011 for Martin compared to this year it has been a bit flat.
