Thx silas. I aim to. Admitedly I sneaked in two centuries in june before the whole thing got worse. Have every sympathy for asmatics.
As for stage 7 one word sums up my performance - mince!
i finally won a stage after coming second twice in the past!
However, I finished on the same points as someone else (so i am =1st). I am trying to figure out who wins so looking at the rules which state:
In the event of a tie, the following criteria, where applicable, will be used to determine the winner:
1-Highest single stage score posted within a competition
2-Most scoring riders on a stage
3-Highest scoring individual on a stage
4-Fewest transfers used within a competition
5-Coin toss
Ok so looking at the 2 of us:
1-We have the same highest single stage score so far in the Vuelta (169)
2-I had more scoring riders on yesterdays stage
3-We both have John Degonkolb
4-He has used fewer transfers than me so far
So basically my question is who wins the prize? Maybe Dave could clarify?
One sock each perhaps?...
95 points on the stage(zilch from my DS'....athough I know they're savuing it all for stage 8 )
Still enough to move up 48 places for the Vuelta overall
Sounds like a touch of the Freddy Rodriguez' ?
Stay healthy Giff
Now that's a distraction. I've finally recovered from some kind reaction to pollen (final prognosis) initially a cough - go get some cough mix, then it was whooping cough - yer to late for antibiotics sir, then it was a chest infection. Finally the new doc said pollen!! Apparently the high count in May caused my lungs to react by producing asthmatic symptoms. Basically any exertion gave me a coughing fit and inability to breath so long rides were out bar the short commute. She gave me an inhaler and within a week everything had settled. Now feeling confident to tackle some big hills without coughing my lungs up - LOL not been a great summer this year
It might have just been the pain from my appendix thats still stopping me getting out on the bike
Maybe it was indigestion gkam rather than gut feeling. Haven't looked for me yet but am sure I'll have scored my consistant poorly self. Can here my physic's teacher muttering 'could do better boy' through clenched teeth. Well off to have a wee look at the provisional results hey ho
1, 3, 4, 5, 6. Very nice
Why did I listen to my feeling and not just bring in Viviani or Degenkolb like I was going to, lol
4,7,14,16,17 for me. Although I didn't get to watch ANY of it, I got a surprise, some family are coming up for the weekend, so had to prepare dinner for 6 at an hours notice
1,2,4,16,18 & in a good position for tomorrow. I'm happy with that.
Got 1,3,4,5 and that is all and 2nd in GC not gonna be too great, could drop places again
Swift(for Uran)-surely he musy come good at some stage
Degenkolb-has the best train
Purito
Valverde
Clarke
Terpstra-coming in to form I think
Bouhanni-top 5 at least
Quintana
Talansky
3 transfers for tomorrow
I "felt in my bones" a Movistar win today, don't know why
Nicolas Roche
Jose Joaquin Rojas (for ten Dam)
Joaquin Rodriguez
Daniel Moreno
Javier Moreno (for de Clercq)
Nacer Bouhanni
Mikel Landa
Gorka Verdugo
Rinaldo Nocentini
I banked a transfer too brining in Lodewyck for Talansky.Would have been for any of the other DS' but credits wouldn't allow.
Lodewyck seems to be flavour of the month.....if you listen in to a conch shell on the beach you can hear his name being whispered
Froome
J-Rod
Davis
Degenkolb
Lodewyck
Quintana
DeLaFuente
Florencio
Cesar
Gadret's been in a crash already......he could easily be 'Bust of the year'?
I've learned my lesson from the first two sprint stages - don't ignore Degenkolb. He's my only change for today though, because I need to start banking some transfers.
Yeah - yesterday! Nightmare. I have persevered with picking Mollema for far too long this season! I always suffer when the favourites win because I just can't bring myself to pick them all - too boring! Oh well - solid team for next few days - I came 150th in the TdF so I've reviewed my target to beat that. Go Lodewyck!
