My normal team was 3,4,5,8,9,16 why i didnt bring in quintana i dont know! i brough in cimolai instead what am i doing!!!
Quite possibly TERA but no Valverde/Contador might hurt you.
3,4,5,6,9,18,19 plus Clarke. Not a bad day, but my guess is quite players a few may also of had a "not a bad day".
Ter, once the scores are out, combine your transfer and purist. I bet we are pretty close that way
3,4,5,6,8,9,16 + Clarke.....
Are we playing 'fantasy team snap'?
The winning team will have de Gendt, Valverde, Contador, Rodriguez , Quintana and Cataldo, the rest won't really matter. At least one team should have those.
I'm not sure that a team could be made with Cataldo in it. Rodriguez, Contador, Valverde, and De Gendt combine to cost 125.5 points. Cataldo costs 15.4, so that leaves precious little to spend on 4 more domestiques.
Anyway, my team was De Gendt, Rodriguez, Contador, Valverde, Quintana, Talansky, Marczyinski, Simon Clarke and Winner Anacona. 229 points by my count and I'm calling it a win unless someone has the exact same team.
2,3,4,5,6,8,16,19+Clarke. Just no Cataldo - surely there won't be many that have Cataldo?!
Widgetkicker and cherrypicked - looks like we may have it for top spot today barring a strange Cataldo team - same team for me as well. I'm curious to see how far up the overall table I get vaulted. de Gendt has been my hero this season - his exploits on the stelvio won me the bike during the Giro, and now this!
226 i make it for my purist team told you it would be close
Combative doesn't score in the Vuelta
De Gendt would rather win the queen stage than have to work for three weeks and finish 8th-ish on gc, and I'm fairly certain that he tanks the opening week of a grand tour to make sure that he'll be far enough down to be allowed into a breakaway on a day like today and the Stelvio stage. I had him pegged to win today, and was just a little surprised that he couldn't beat Cataldo at the end.
De Gendt went into stage 20 of the Giro in 8th almost six minutes down and made up five minutes and five places in the last two stages. He probably wouldn't have been allowed the opportunity to break away on that Stelvio stage if he had been placed any higher at the start.
For anyone who's interested (from the official regs) :-
He didn't "Break away" as a classic break would. He attacked with around 35-40km to go. Pulling back around 3.20 minutes on then leader J-Rod and 3.30 on eventual winner Hesjedal.
The final stage, stage 21 was and ITT where De Gendt only beat Hesjedal by 8 seconds but Scarponi lost a shed load which boosted him into 3rd.
That's interesting simon, but these are the tiebreakers I was thinking of:
In the event of a tie, the following criteria, where applicable, will be used to determine the winner:
Highest single stage score posted within a competition
Most scoring riders on a stage
Highest scoring individual on a stage
Fewest transfers used within a competition
Coin toss
And you're right gkam, now that I look at it I see that my memory of the Giro was skewed a little. But it led to me picking De Gendt today, so I'm not complaining.
There is nothing to win for a stage victory in the Vuelta. So a draw is a draw
Fair enough but I was more responding to
I was going to do the ones you were interested in later, but you beat me to it.
Well big bag of FAIL for me today
Put Moncoutie(6 points) in for Valverde(34 points)
put Marczynski(5 points) in for Talansky(18 points)
Why, why, why, why don't i ignore myself
Plus didn't think Quintana would be up either!
I'm going to call this a POOR day for me.
I scored 153 with only one rider not scoring. Which on any other day would be alright.
Then I looked at my purist team. 156 with only 4 riders scoring
Your having a laugh GKam. I've got a -15 thats a poor day.I've got 163 today my second highest score and I was delighted to be two hundred and twentieth.
164 today but more importantly a 135 on my purist team to take me back to the top of the standings happy days!
216 for my purist team with 6 scorers
159 for my main team with 7 scorers
The only reason I said it was a poor day. After 2 and a bit weeks. My purist team which I picked before the race is outscoring my transfer team which I am changing out every day
I still have a list of 3 teams. My purist team, The team I started transfers with and the "if I had another account" team. At the end of the Vuelta, I'll be working out where I went wrong
I know where I went wrong, the wrong DS picks at the start plus the cost of the extra transfers to fix it is what's cost me really. If I'd started with Talansky, Meersman, Quintana, Bouhanni and Marczynski I'd be fighting for top spot but I picked De Weert and Da Fluente instead of Meersman and Talansky which cost me maybe 120 points early on plus 40 in penalty transfers.
What's most annoying is that I made the right picks on my purist team which is why I'm doing well.
One of the hardest things about this game is trying to change DSs when the terrain keeps changing, in the first week where I kept having to swap out climbing and sprinting stars there was no way for me to change DSs without being hit with the penalty.
Also, I probably stuck with Froome over Valverde for one or two stages too many.
Good point, if only i hadnt gone with froome and swift, but nevermind!
I just totally jinxed myself on that one didn't I? Time to start looking up the tiebreakers.
Looks like you'll be in the top few
REALLY? So 3rd Overall Giro d'Italia this year is tanking and not working???
