Tour De France stage 4 Nice > Nice TTT

Right, i've checked and no ne has started a thread yet so he goes.

TTT day today, a new man in yellow but who.

My bet is on either Kwiatkowski, Valverde or EBH. I think these will be the top 3 teams and they are the lead riders for each team.

As for the fantasy game it's a lot more points at stake than normal so lets hope everyone read their emails about the points ?

Not sure if Europcar are definitely not renewing but it's probably going to be decided based on how successful the Tour is.

There were also rumours that team 'Europcar' were aiming at World Tour next year so were looking to build up some decent WT points. That'd mean targetting GC (as GC gives more points than jerseys/stage wins by a country mile) with Rolland who's a better GC bet than Voeckler.

Pretty happy with today, bringing in kwit and Gutierrez for Dumoulin and Hivert worked. Now I have Gerrans, Sagan, EBH and Kwiatkowski for tomorrow. Just who to bring in for Nava. Play it safe with Kittel, or go for Simon 39

Slowly inching up the table - 600 to 300 to 200(ish) now, thanks mainly to my new bff Gerrans (who also got me my only stage podium so far this year, in Catalunya).

Should have Sagan, Gerrans, Albasini, Kwiat and Kristoff tomorrow which is OK. Big day for Poland tomorrow with an all-Polish Wimbledon quarter-final - maybe there might be a double-celebration? 39

up to 28th overall now and top of the forum league.

Now do I stick? Or twist?

I've got a feeling the sprinters will want to win tomorrow so break wont stay away, but will they cope with the cat 4's?? 39 39

Made my changes, EBH, Millar and Amador out, three sprinters in (but not Cav or Sagan).

Fingers crossed it pays off.

Simon rarely comes above 6th in this sort of company and likely lower tomorrow. Kittel may get IM points. I've kept Kittel for now. Wish I'd brought in Gerrans rather than Simon for 3, but there are some much bigger decisions to come. The mountains will decide everything. Trying to find some cheap climbers who are worth a punt as you can probably only have 2 big guys in a team, (which is how it should be).

Good point, which would mean Kittel could pick up between 10-15 points maybe, and he would already be in my team ready for Thursday. I think my standard team will look similar to my purist team come the mountains, with someone replacing Sagan, bit how that will work in the end I don't know, because I want to get Clarke in at some point :?. Hoping maybe De Clerq at 10.8 could be a bargain if he performs

I was right, 133 but 15th on the stage! Up 200 places in the overall!

Not a bad day in the end, bringing in Gerrans/Kwiatkowski/Chavanel for yesterday's stage really paid off. Shame about Millar, time to ditch him and Amador I think.

One question, is anyone keeping EBH?

130 ish day for me plus gerrans in for tomorrow already
Not sure on the Simon Clarke idea I actually think Pierre Rolland has targeted the polka dot Jersey and they are playing the tommy v card for gc tbh

Europcar are coming to the end of their sponsorship contract so I think the team have decided to use Rolland early on to get some air-time in the polka dots then switch to thinking about GC next week some time. It won't put too much strain on Rolland to chase the odd small climb this week so I reckon it's win-win for them.

Well I didn't know that about the sponsorship , shame I quite like the colourscheme makes it easy to spot

Definitely going to drop a bit but my team will be ok for tomorrow. Gerrans in and someone else, not sure who yet. Simon Clarke for a solo win? He'd pick up a few mountain points to tie for the polka dot if he goes first over every climb. That's a better long-term goal and they'd keep yellow as well.

1,2,2,6,9,9, plus 1st,4th,5th,6th on GC and some jersey points for Kwiatowski. 141 points on my calculations. Not a bad day after all.

Agree, it will be another shoot out between him and Sagan

This will alter tactics from now on, I think. Until we hit the Pyrenees, OGE will be relentless protecting Gerrans' yellow and working hard to close down any escapes.

I (and many others) probably had tomorrow down as a potential break-sticking (or even solo win) day. I'm going to take the penalty hits and get the sprinters in!

Worked out well for me but not in the way I expected - 1,1,2,6,9,10. If Albasini was in Orica's lead group, then I make GC Gerrans, Impey, Albasini, Kwiatkowski, Chavanel.

Results show Albasini in 3rd GC so he must have been in the front group.

Great! Thought I'd had a bad day but Gerrans and Albasini saved it.
My "plan" took me up to today - so not a clue what to do next... Some places saying tomorrow could be a sprint, but doesn't look like it to me...

If it stays as it is then I make my score 133. Not too unhappy although dissappointed with Movistar.

Rip rip rip, I'm figuratively tearing up my Fantasy team sheet, throwing it on the floor and stamping on it.

Only have two transfers so I'm basically going to have a rubbish day tomorrow as well. Pfft.

I thought of transferring Gavazzi for Gerrans with a pen but didn't do it but as I want Gavazzi for 5 and 7 it's not so bad. Not having Gerrans for 2 days has cost me quite a bit now.

Never that great at TTTs. Thank god the mountains are coming up.

Aw shucks. My transfer was Gerrans > Millar, and OGE have just set the fastest time. Meaning around 30 points for Simon.

OPQ
SKY
SAX
LOT
GRM
MOV
KAT
CAN

MOV not done as well as I hoped but they are two cheap guys I had in from the start so I didn't waste any transfers. So-so score for me I think. Probably drop a little but got a decent team for the next couple of days and should save 1 or 2 transfers for 8.
