On our quiet side road, a car crashed thrrough a 1.2m high and very thick stone wall, drove over the garden before badly denting the sold stone house. It was driven by opposite neighbour from his drive, so he was able to do that much damage by travelling across width of a not very wide road from being stationary. He would have killed any pedestrians, had they been walking along pavement.

"Range Rover coming a cropper in London W1 due to brave cycle stand, helped by lamppost which fell defending the footway."
A couple say they are fearing for their lives as a huge 4x4 car has been left "dangling" at the top of their back garden for several days. They fear the vehicle could career into their house at any moment. The Mitsubishi is perched with its rear wheels mid-air, held back only by a tree stump.

"'It's lucky no one was killed' says Malvern home owner after car ploughs into house" . Did the car plough into the house on its own?
A number of comments that it is all AI !
Here's an update with photos of the wall boarded up.

That Chesterfield one is close to home.
Apparently hooning down a redressed road, losing control, and causing life changing injuries to three people is "Careless"not "Dangerous". £750 compensation each.
Meaning, shitty Transport Minister Mark Harper does not give a damn.
I trust that Mr Brooke has voluntarily surrendered his driving licence until he can get to the bottom of his medical issues?
What were they thinking building a grade II listed building that close to a main road...
First of all, it's quite clear what happened here; the school came out of nowhere, the driver did all they could to avoid a collision but there was nothing that they could do to stop the classroom trying to consume their car.
Secondly, cars are too strong. We need to protect children and the only way that we can do that is to reinforce and fortify the schools. Also, the schools need crumple zones.
Thirdly, maybe all children need to be kept in zorbing balls all day, just in case. It's the only way to stop this happening again
She seemed a bit upset about a minor misjudgement that could have killed someone and is going to cause months of stress and inconvenience.
For real?
Yes, right after "it lost control."
They should never have been given planning permission for that
Zorbing balls - if it saves just one life
Calling car 237, come in car 237
control, this is 237 here, I can hear you loud and I can hear you clear yeah
good morning 237 good morning bit of a late start isn't it
is there something you want me to do (yeah), you I'm only to please you (hoo)
yes, we want to to pick up a young lady from 83 Royal Gardens
it seems extraordinary to me that a death can just be written off this way:

Good lord! You mean he didn't??
Seems like a case for additional safety measures e.g. at least some feedback if you try to cross into a lane with oncoming vehicles. Although without actual barriers between lanes this might not have changed the outcome here. And even then possibly the car driver would still have been hurt.
Unfortunately there's a general feeling of "sadly accidents happen ... but not to me and mine!" Until one does.
I read this earlier (can't bring myself to follow all the way through to the Heil):
…which rather begs the question of (1) how hard she had intended to apply the brake, and (2) how hard she actually pressed the accelerator.
